11. Tata Nano Electric
There is no secret that Tata Motors is working on an electric version of its popular hatchback – Nano. The Tata Nano electric will be a beneficiary of the government’s FAME (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric vehicles) scheme in India. Under this policy, the hybrid and electric vehicles can avail tax benefits. The Tata Nano EV made its first public appearance at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show.
The Nano EV will run on electric power coming from litumum ion batteries placed on the floor just below the front seats. The positioning of the battery pack will also help optimizing centre of gravity and weight distribution of the car. In order to maintain its body-weight, Tata might compress the suspension setup of the vehicle.
