9. Tata X451
The home-grown carmaker is reportedly working on micro SUV that will rival the Mahindra KUV100 and the Maruti Suzuki Ignis. Codenamed Tata X451, this new hatchback will be based on an all-new AMP (Advanced Modular Platform), and designed with inputs from Tata’s three design studios and JLR. The design and styling of the car is likely to be inspired from the Nexon compact SUV.
The car might get projector headlamps, daytime running lights, prominent wheel arches and alloy wheels. Engine options on offer will be 4-cylinder petrol and diesel that will be either based on Bolt’s cast-iron or Tiago’s lightweight aluminium powertrains. Transmission options on offer could be a manual and an automatic.
