7. Tata Pelican Nano
The home-grown carmaker is currently working on a more up-market iteration of the Nano, which is internally known as Pelican (code-name). While the vehicle won’t be launched before 2017, the company has already begun testing the vehicle on Indian roads. In terms of design, the Tata Nano Pelican might be slightly different than the existing Nano. It will also get a bigger engine, a plusher cabin and more features, thus making it slightly pricier than the current model.
The company is working on a 1000cc, three-cylinder, petrol engine for this upcoming small hatch. While many reports believe that the new Tata Nano will positioned above the GenX Nano, we think it will come as a replacement to the latter. The exterior design of the Pelican could be inspired from the Nano Europa concept, and its cabin will borrow its elements from the Tiago and other new-age Tata cars.
