World’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero MotoCorp Limited (HMCL) is ready with a range of new motorcycles and scooters that will make their public debut at the 2018 Auto Expo. While the bikemaker will launch the all-new Xtreme NXT 200cc on January 30, it is likely to unveil the production-ready XF3R 300cc bike and a 125cc scooter at the biennial event. The latter one could the production-spec Hero Dare 125 concept that broke cover at the 2014 Auto Expo.
Reports in media suggest that the new Hero 125cc scooter could be named – Hero Aava. However, there is no official word on the vehicle’s name and details. Expected to carry classic design lines, the Hero Dare 125 will appeal both male and female buyers. In the 125cc scooter space, it will take on the Vespa 125 (SXL/VXL), Suzuki Access 125, Honda Activa 125 and Honda Grazia. Besides this, Hero will unveil the XPulse adventure bike concept at the Expo.

Hero Dare 125 Launch Date
The home-grown bikemaker might unveil the production ready version of the Dare 125cc scooter concept at the Auto Expo. The event will begin on February 7, 2018 in Greater Noida. While its public debut could take place next month, the launch is likely to happen in coming months. One must note that the company hasn’t yet revealed the scooter’s launch timeline and details. Hero Dare 125 Price
In Hero’s product lineup, the new 125cc Dare scooter will be positioned above the Hero Pleasure. Price of the scooter is estimated to fall between Rs 55,000 – 60,000. If launched at this price, it will fight against the Honda Grazia and Activa 125, Vespa 125 and Suzuki Access 125.
Hero Dare 125 Design
As mentioned above, the new Hero 125cc scooter had its public debut in its concept form at the Delhi Auto Expo in 2014. With sporty stance and styling, this new automatic scooter aims the male and female buyers. Upfront, the Hero Dare 125cc scooter features a stylish headlamp unit with daytime running lights (DRLs) and clear lens turn indicators. The headlamp and turn indicators are integrated in the apron. The dual-toned front cowl with a black visor adds to its styling. It features sporty textured seat and body coloured grab rail for pillion.
The scooter gets full LED tail lamp unit that comes integrated with clear lens turning blinkers. The Dare 125 features a full digital console displaying various information including service due indicator. The list of standard features includes a mobile phone charging socket, side-stand indicator, pass switch, and a boot light. In terms of proportions, the new Dare 125 measures 1,820mm in length, 975mm in width and 1,180mm in height. It has a ground clearance of 155mm, which is good enough for Indian city roads. At the heart of the new Hero scooter will be a single-cylinder 124.6cc engine pushing out a maximum power of 9.38bhp at 7,500rpm and 9.8Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. Hero Dare 125 Mileage

Hero Dare Braking and Suspension
The concept showcased at the Auto Expo 2014 was equipped with 200mm diameter hydraulic disc brake at the front and 130mm drum brake at the rear. The same unit will be offered on its production model. Suspension mechanism of the Dare 125 comprises of telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers upfront and single hydraulic shock absorbers rear unit.
