Honda Grazia Achieves 1 Lakh Sales Milestone Within Five Months

Honda Motorcycles and Scooter India (HMSI) launched the Grazia 125cc scooter in November, 2017. While the company managed to sell over 17,000 units of the scooter in the very first month of its arrival, it crossed 50,000 sales mark in January, 2018. The Honda Grazia has continue wowing buyers as the two-wheeler maker announced that the scooter has achieved yet another sales milestone in the country. The company sold over one lakh units of the Grazia in less than five months of its launch. Just so you know, the scooter crossed 15,000 sales mark in just 21 days of its launch and became one of the top 10 selling scooters of India.

Attributes such as sporty unisex design, multiple first-in-class features and efficient engine have been working in its favour. Priced at Rs 58,133 (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Honda Grazia locks horns against the Suzuki Access 125, Yamaha Fascino and TVS Jupiter. Honda’s 125cc scooter comes with a host of several segment-first features such as full digital instrument console and LED headlamp cluster. Honda Grazia Bookings

HMSI had begun accepting bookings for the premium scooter around two weeks before its launch from October 25, 2017 across its authorized dealerships. Perspective buyers can book the scooter by paying an initial sum of Rs 2000 at a nearby Honda showroom. The company received over 1,000 bookings and 8,000 enquiries for the vehicle before its launch. With this new premium scooter, Honda Motorcycles & Scooter India aims to appeal young urban buyers. The Grazia is the flagship scooter of the Japanese two-wheeler maker in India. In terms of pricing, the new 125cc scooter sits above the Navi and the Cliq scooters. The Grazia 125cc scooter lineup is spread across three variants – Drum, Drum Alloy and Disc – priced at Rs 58,133, Rs 60,063 and Rs 62,505 respectively. As mentioned above, the new Honda 125 scooter offers multiple industry first features including LED headlamps and dual-tone colour scheme. Interestingly, it’s also the first scooter to feature fully digital instrument cluster in the country. For the convenience of rider, the Grazia offers multiple storage compartments and a USB charging point that can be seen in most of the contemporary scooters. It also gets a wider apron and foot-board. There is a four in one lock with seat opener switch.

Other key features of the scooter include large turn indicators, Combi-Braking system with equalizer, alloy wheels and fibre components. In addition to these, the scooter gets disc brake, metal foot pegs for pillion, telescopic front forks etc. Though, it misses out on the ABS (anti-lock-braking system). In terms of proportions, Honda’s premium scooter measures 1,812mm in length, 679mm in width and 1,146mm in height. Sitting on a 1,260mm of wheelbase, the automatic scooter offers a seat height of 766mm. It stands on a ground clearance of 155mm, and comes with a fuel tank capacity of 5.3-litres.

Honda equips its all-new 125 scooter – Grazia – witht the same 125cc, single cylinder, 4-stroke engine that powers the Honda Activa 125. This air cooled motor churns out a peak power of 8.52bhp at 6,500rpm, while generating a peak torque of 10.54Nm at 5,000rpm. Similar to the other Honda scooters, it is boosted with the company’s Honda Eco Technology (HET). This system not only reduces engine’s friction, but improves its fuel efficiency as well. Transmission on offer is a V-Matic gearbox. Honda Grazia Suspension System

Suspension setup of the new Honda premium scooter has been carried over from the Activa 125. It comes fitted with telescopic front forks and spring loaded hydraulic type rear shockers suspension system.

Honda Grazia Braking system

Aside from the same suspension set up, Grazia also shares it braking system with the Activa 125. Braking power for the scooter comes from 130mm drum brakes at front and rear. It additionally comes with Honda’s Combi-Braking system at the back. Similar to the Activa 125, the Grazia also gets optional 190mm disc unit.
