Here’s a complete list of upcoming Hero bikes and scooters that will go on sale in coming years.
In a bid to maintain top position in the highly competitive two-wheeler maker, Hero MotoCorp is planning to launch a range of new bikes and scooters in India. Some of them have been unveiled at the Delhi Auto Expo 2018 including the all-new XPulse off-roader, new Maestro 125 and Duet 125. Here, we bring you a list of all new upcoming Hero bikes and scooters that will go on sale in the country in next two years.
The home-grown bikemaker unveiled the XF3R as the ‘Design concept vehicle’ at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo. The vehicle concept previews the company’s futuristic design approach. Hero had confirmed that the same design theme will be used for its future performance street bikes. The XF3R (production version) will be a 300cc motorcycle that will go up against the KTM 390 Duke, Mahindra Mojo and Bajaj Pulsar CS400.
Based on a steel trellis frame, the new Hero 300cc bike comes fitted with the alloys and Pirelli Sport Demon tyres. Upfront, the bike features street fighter style headlamp. Other design elements include LED tail lamp with integrated turn indicators, twin-port exhaust system, fuel tank with extensions, etc. Power source for this upcoming Hero bike is a 300cc petrol engine benefited with fuel injection system and Dual Map technology. For suspension duties, the bike gets USD telescopic forks and a single-sided monoshock and swingarm at front and rear respectively.
Expected Launch: 2018
Expected Price: Around Rs 2 lakh
The all-new Hero XPulse adventure bike that first broke cover at the 2017 EICMA Motor Show, made its India debut at this year’s Auto Expo in February. It’s the bigger version of India’s first ever on-off road bike – the Hero Impulse. Despite being a capable yet affordable bike, the XPulse failed to live up to the company’s expectation. Seeing the growing demand for adventure or dual-purpose motorcycles, the homegrown automaker is evaluating a more powerful version of the bike.
The XPulse hearts a 200cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine borrowed from the Hero Xtreme 200R. On the naked sports motorcycle, this motor pushes out a maximum power of 18.4bhp at 8,000rpm and 17.1Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. With off-road capabilities and 200cc engine, this upcoming Hero bike in India will take on the Royal Enfield Himalayan.
Expected Launch: June or July 2018
Expected Price: Rs 1 lakh – Rs 1.2 lakh
Hero MotoCorp is also planning to revive one of the most popular brands – the Hero Karizma. Once the most popular sports bike, the Karizma has been phased out due to sluggish sales down. If reports are to be believed, the new motorcycle would be based on an all-new platform. Exact details about the launch of this motorcycle are yet to be revealed, but media reports suggest that the sports bike could go on sale sometime in 2020.
Instead of the current 223cc engine, the new model could use the 250cc engine that we have seen on the Hero HX250R. This 249cc, single-cylinder motor is capable of producing 31bhp of power and 26Nm of torque. It will be paired to a 6-speed gearbox. Reports also suggest that the bike might get a BS-6 compliant engine.
Expected Launch: 2020
Expected Price: Rs 1.25 lakh
