Hero MotoCorp has announced price of the all-new Xtreme 200R for the seven Northeastern states and West Bengal. The Hero Xtreme 200R naked sports bike is made available at Rs 88,000 (ex-showroom). While the official announcement is yet to be made, the company has updated the prices on its official website. The new Hero 200cc motorcycle first broke cover (in concept avatar as Xtreme 200S) at the 2016 Auto Expo, followed by its public debut at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo.

Designed and developed in-house by Hero MotoCorp, the Hero Xtreme 200R takes on the multiple products such as TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, KTM 200 Duke and Bajaj Pulsar NS200. Hero MotoCorp claims that the company focused on five key elements – ergonomics, engine performance, handling, braking performance and stability. With an aim to strengthen its sales network, Hero MotoCorp will establish premium retail outlets across the country. Hero Xtreme 200R Launch Date

With the all-new Hero Xtreme 200R naked sports bike, the home-grown two-wheeler manufacturer has marked its re-entry in the 200cc bike segment. Price of the naked sports bike has been revealed for the West Bengal and Northeastern states that include Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Meghalaya and Tripura. The bike will soon be made available across the nation. In the company’s product lineup, the Xtreme 200R sits above the Xtreme Sports. The naked spots bike has been designed and developed locally that further helped the bikemaker come up with attractive pricing. In the Northeastern states, the Hero Xtreme 200R is made available at Rs 88,000 (ex-showroom). At this price point, it undercuts most of its rivals –  TVS Apache RTR 200 and Bajaj Pulsar NS200 – that cost Rs 1.03 lakh and Rs 1.01 lakh (ex-showroom, Assam) respectively. This also makes it India’s most affordable 200cc motorcycle.

Power source for Hero’s new naked street bike is a 200cc, 4-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled BS-IV compliant engine. This motor pushes out a top power of 18.4bhp at 8,000rpm against 17.1Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. With these figures, the new Hero 200cc bike becomes more powerful and torquier than the Xtreme Sports. However, it‘s the least powerful bike in its segment. For ensuring smooth power delivery with minimal vibrations, Hero equips its engine with additional balancers. Power is delivered to the wheels via a 5-speed gearbox. Similar to the other Hero bikes, the new Hero 200cc naked street bike is high on fuel efficiency. As mentioned above, the bike comes packed with an all-new 200cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled motor. Features and engine specifications of the Xtreme 200R were revealed by the bikemaker during its unveiling event in January. The bike makes use of the 200cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled unit that was also fitted to its concept. The light kerb weight and greater power to weight ratio further helps it achieve impressive top speed. The new Hero 200cc bike is capable to mark 60kmph from standstill in 4.6 seconds. The production version of the Hero Xtreme 200R stays true to the Xtreme 200S concept that was showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo in 2016. Hero claims that its new 200cc motorcycle has ‘Cheetah’ inspired design. With sharp and sporty styling, it will surely appeal young enthusiasts. Similar to its concept, the final version of the bike sits on the lightweight diamond frame chassis that is claimed to “offer precise handling in tight corners and utmost stability at high speeds”. Face of the naked streetfighter looks aggressive – thanks to its eyebrow-shaped LED pilot lamps.  Though, it misses out on LED headlamp.

What further enhance its sporty appeal are the contrast coloured front mud guard, dual tone seats, coloured inner mud guard at the rear tyre and LED tail lamp. The new 200cc Hero bike has been assembled with multi-spoke 17-inch wheels with 100/80 -17 TL front and 130/70 – 17 TL rear tyres. It also gets a part analog digital instrument console. Proportionally, the Hero Xtreme 200R is slightly different from its concept. The overall length of the bike stands at 2,062mm, while its width and height measure 778mm and 1,072mm respectively. The new Hero 200cc bike sits on 1,338mm of wheelbase, and stands on 167mm of ground clearance. The kerb weight of the bike is on lower side, which is around 146kgs. Hero Xtreme 200R Braking and Suspension System

Built on a diamond frame chassis, the Hero Xtreme 200R comes with safety such as 276mm front and 220mm rear disc brakes. It also gets an optional single channel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). Interestingly, the Xtreme 200R is the first Hero bike to get ABS. Suspension mechanism of the bike includes 37mm telescopic forks and an 8-step pre-load adjustable monoshock suspension units fitted at the front and rear axles respectively.

Estimated to be priced between Rs 90,000 – Rs 1.10 lakh, this new Hero motorcycle will gun straight against some popular 200cc bikes including TVS Apache RTR 200, Bajaj Pulsar NS200, Yamaha FZ25 and KTM Duke 200.
