Soon-to-be-Launched New Cars/SUVs/Bikes/Scooters – All Details

The festive season is a couple of months away and car and two-wheeler manufacturers have already started releasing new models in the market. The next two months (September and October, 2021) will witness a slew of new launches including 4 new cars/SUVs, 5 bikes and 2 electric scooters. Here’s a brief on the soon-to-be-launched vehicles.

Mahindra XUV700

Mahindra XUV700 Debut 14 August

Mahindra’s much-awaited premium 7-seater SUV – XUV700 – is ready to debut on 14th August 2021. Its launch will take place in September. The Mahindra XUV700 will be one of the most feature-laden and the most powerful vehicle in its segment. The SUV will be offered with 2.0L mFlacon turbo petrol and 2.2L mHawk diesel engines making power around 200bhp and 185bhp respectively. There will be two gearboxes on offer – 6-speed manual and torque convertor automatic.

Volkswagen Taigun mid-size SUV is likely to hit showrooms in coming weeks. Its official bookings have already been commenced in the country. The model lineup will be made available with 1.0L, 3-cylinder turbo petrol (113bhp/175Nm) and 1.5L, 4-cylinder turbo petrol (148bhp/250Nm) engines and three gearbox options – 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and 7-speed DSG automatic. The same powertrain setup offered on the newly-launched Skoda Kushaq.

New-Gen Maruti Celerio

Maruti Suzuki Celerio hatchback is ready to witness a generation in the month of September 2021. The model lineup will receive significant changes on the exterior and interior along with bigger dimensions and a more refined engine. It will come with the WagonR’s 1.2L, 4-cylinder petrol engine making 83bhp. The hatchback will get a new dashboard with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, new upholstery, central console and a multi function steering wheel.

Hyundai i20 N Line

The South Korean carmaker has confirmed that it will introduce its performance-oriented N Line division of vehicles in India. The Hyundai i20 N Line will be the first model to roll out under the brand. Here, the hot-hatch will be offered with a 1.0L, 3-cylinder T-GDI petrol engine making 113bhp and 172Nm. The motor will be paired to a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox. Its engine response and exhaust sound will be different from the regular i20. In fact, its braking and suspension setups will also be revised.

Tata HBX

The first production batch of the upcoming Tata HBX is reported to be dispatched soon to dealers. So, we expect it to arrive in the month of September, 2021. The final model of the mini SUV will retain most of its design bits from the concept. It’s likely to come with the 1.2L, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol and 1.2L turbo petrol engines delivering power worth 86bhp and 110bhp respectively. The turbo-petrol motor could be exclusively offered with the DCT automatic gearbox. There will also be a 5-speed manual and AMT gearboxes on offer.

Ola Electric is ready to launch its first electric scooter on August 15, 2021. The model has created much buzz even before its launch and gathered over 1 lakh bookings within 24 hours. The new Ola electric scooter will be offered in 10 colours and is claimed to provide largest underseat storage space in its segment. It’s likely to deliver a top speed of 100kmph and a range of 150kms on a full charge. The e-scooter will be able to do 0 to 45kmph in 3.9 seconds.

Simple One Electric Scooter

Simple One will be the first electric scooter from the Bengaluru based EV startup. The model is scheduled to launch on 15th August 2021. The company has revealed that the e-scooter will provide an underseat storage space of 22-litres, which is more than the Ather 450X. In fact, its range and top speed will be higher than its arch rivals. The Simple One, with a 4.8kWh lithium-ion battery pack, will deliver a range of up to 240kms and a maximum speed of 100kmph.

BMW C 400 GT

Pre-bookings of the soon-to-be-launched BMW C 400 GT scooter have already been commenced across the country. It will be the first maxi-scooter from the German two-wheeler maker in the country. For power, the scooter will use a 350cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine benefited with the new ‘e-gas’ technology. Transmission duties are done by a CVT gearbox. The maxi scooter offers a maximum speed of 139kmph. There will be three colour options to choose from.

The new-generation Royal Enfield Classic 350 will see a release on August 31, 2021. The retro-styled bike will be based on a new platform and derive power from a new 349cc, air/oil cooled OHC engine. The motor, which is borrowed from the RE Meteor 350, makes power worth 20.2bhp and 27Nm of torque. Compared to the existing motor, the new one will be less noisy and cause less vibrations. The bike will also come with improved styling and more features.

Honda NX200

Honda 2Wheelers has confirmed that it will launch a new adventure motorcycle on 19th August 2021. It’s mostly likely to be Honda NX200 with 184.4cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled fuel injected engine. The same motor does duty in the Honda Hornet 2.0. Boosted with Honda’s Eco technology, the engine delivers a maximum power of 17.2bhp and 16.1Nm of torque. The new Honda adventure bike will share its design elements with the Hornet 2.0.

New KTM Range

KTM is ready to launch the new RC390, RC200 and RC125 in coming weeks. The former will be powered by a 43.5bhp, 373cc, single-cylinder engine with slightly revised silencer, a new TFT display, a quickshifter, bigger fuel tank, larger disc brakes and tweaked rear frame. The new KTM RC125 will be powered by 14.5bhp, 125cc, single-cylinder engine and the KTM RC200 will come with the 24.6bhp, 199.5cc, single-cylinder engine.

New Bajaj Pulsar 250

The new Bajaj Pulsar 250 will hit roads in the next two months. The bike will use a new 220cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine making power close to 24bhp. The motor will be more refined and linked to a more advanced gearbox. The new Pulsar 250 will sit on a new chassis that could be a perimeter unit. Some of its key updates will include a sharply designed front fairing, small windscreen, new side panels, a fully digital instrument luster with smartphone connectivity.
