BMW C 400 GT Bookings Open At Dealership Level at Rs 1 Lakh

BMW Motorrad is ready to foray into the maxi-scooter segment in India with the C 400 GT. While the official price of the model will be announced in coming months, it’s estimated to cost around Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). In fact, select dealerships have already started accepting bookings for the new BMW C 400 GT at an initial sum of Rs 1 lakh. The company recently dropped the first teaser image of the maxi-scooter revealing its apron-mounted LED headlight.

At the heart of the BMW C 400 GT maxi scooter is a 350cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine linked to a CVT gearbox. The motor has been boosted with the new ‘e-gas’ technology, which is essentially the updated throttle-by-wire system. The updated motor features modified cylinder head, new oxygen sensor, new catalytic converter and revised exhaust system, thus making it Euro 5 compliant. It makes a top power of 33.5bhp at 7,500rpm and 35Nm of torque at 5,750rpm. The new BMW maxi scooter is capable to attain a top speed of 139kmph.

In global markets, the BMW C 400 GT comes in a choice of three colour schemes – Blackstorm Metallic, Alpine White and Moonwalkgrey Metallic. The maxi scooter has full LED lighting system as standard along with the a larger windscreen, split-style footboard, sporty pillion grab rails, step-up saddle with GT tag, traction control, a TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, keyless operations, riding modes and USB charging.

BMW’s maxi scooter recently received an update in global market. The new model comes with the new brakes and a revised automatic stability control (ASC) that improves its traction on lower-traction terrains. The C 400 CT has been equipped with telescopic fork upfront and double aluminum swingarm, double spring struts, adjustable preload suspension at the rear. The scooter sits on the steel tube construction with aluminum die cast unit and rides on 120/70 R15 front and 150/70 R14 rear tyres.
