Simple One electric scooter, the first electric scooter from the Bengaluru based EV startup, is ready to hit roads on August 15, 2021. While its launch is a few days away, new details of the vehicle have revealed by the EV maker. As per the official information, the new Simple e-scooter will offer a massive storage space of 30-litres. It’s arch rival – Ather 450X has an underseat storage area of 22-litres.
The power system of the new Simple e-scooter is likely to include a 4.8kWh lithium-ion battery pack that will offer a range of up to 240kms. It will be capable to do 0 to 50kmph in 3.6 seconds and offer a maximum speed of 100kmph. Compared to the Ather 450X, the upcoming Simple One electric scooter will be faster and offer higher range. The former has an electronic speed limit of 80kmph and certified range of 116kms.
Simple Energy has revealed that the company will setup the Simple Loop charging network across the country. It will be a fast charging network including over 300 stations in the initial phase. It can charge the e-scooter to up to 2.5km in just 60 seconds or 1 minute. In order to make charging more convenient, the EV maker will partner with shopping complexes, restaurants, etc. Talking about its features, the new Simple e-scooter will offer a touchscreen on-board navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, a triangular LED DRL, black grab rail, handlebar mounted turn indicators and LED taillamps.
The Simple One electric scooter will be introduced in a phased manner across the country. In the first phase, it will be made available across 13 states including Punjab, Delhi, Goa, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana and Kerala. Prices of the new Simple electric scooter are likely to be around Rs 1.10 lakh – Rs 1.20 lakh (ex-showroom).
