Bhavish Aggarwal, CEO of OLA electric India has announced that the much-awaited Ola electric scooter will be launched in the country on August 15, 2021. The company will also reveal the official specs and variant details of the scooter on the same day. He also announced that the delivery schedule of the electric scooter for customers will also be revealed on the Independence Day, 2021.
Bookings for the new Ola electric scooter has already been commenced, and interested buyers can pre-book the scooter by paying a token amount of Rs 499 (fully refundable on cancellation). Reportedly to be called Ola Series S, the scooter recorded over 1 lakh orders within 24 hours of commencement of the bookings. This makes it the ‘most pre-booked scooter’ in the world.
The Ola electric scooter is reportedly to be launched in 3 variants – Series S, S1 and S1 Pro. The model range could be called the Ola Series S with two variants – S1 and S1 Pro. The scooter will come in 10 colour options including 3 Pastel, 3 Metallic and 3 Matte Shades. The Pastel palette has Red, Yellow and Blue colours, Matte shades are Black, Blue and Grey and Metallic paints are Pink, Silver and Gloss.
The Ola electric scooter is most likely to offer a range of 150kms on a single charge. It is capable to achieve 0 to 45kmph in 3.9 seconds with maximum speed expected around 100kmph. Powertrain details and battery capacity will be revealed on August 15. The company has confirmed that the Ola electric scooter will have segment-largest boot space. The teaser reveals that the underseat can accommodate two helmets.
The Ola scooter will come with features like a digital instrument console, smartphone connectivity, cloud connectivity, telescopic front suspensions, alloy wheels, removable lithium-ion battery and others. Ola is also developing high-speed Ola hyperchargers across India. The scooter can achieve a range of 75km in 18 minutes charge using hyperchargers point.
