The long-awaited Mahindra XUV700 7-seater SUV will finally make its global debut in India on August 14, 2021. Bookings for the new model will begin on the same day. The new model is expected to enter production in the next few days, while launch is scheduled during festive season – around September-October 2021.
The new Mahindra XUV700 will be the first vehicle to feature the brand’s new logo, which has been officially revealed. The company has released several teaser videos of the new SUV, which reveals some of the high-tech features. The XUV700 will be equipped with segment-largest panoramic sunroof, auto booster headlamps, air purifier with virus protection, smart door handles, personalised safety alert system, etc.
It will be the first model in its segment to offer ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) with features such as adaptive cruise control, drowsiness detection, blind spot detection, autonomous emergency braking and lane keep assist. One of the video previews the cabin of the XUV700, which has dual-tone colour scheme. It also gets ALEXA connectivity with voice command compatibility, and WiFi.
In terms of features, the new Mahindra XUV700 gets dual-zone climate control, a Sony speaker sound system with four different sound modes, a dual HD screens for the instrument console and a touchscreen infotainment system. The XUV700’s dashboard has clutter-free design with chrome inserts. The SUV also gets powered driver’s seat with memory function. The front passenger seat also has an integrated lever, which allows forward and reclining movement.
The diesel version of the SUV will get cruise control with four driving modes – ZIP, ZAP, ZOOM and Custom. These modes are likely to control throttle and steering response. The new XUV700 will be offered in two seating options – 6-seater and 7-seater. The former will have captain seats for the second row, while the 7-seater will get bench-type seats.
The new Mahindra XUV700 3-row SUV will be offered with two engine options – a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine and a 2.0-litre mFalcon turbo-petrol engine. While the former will produce power output close to 185bhp, the petrol unit will develop close to 200bhp of power. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.
