1. Maruti Ignis
Maruti Ignis is, undoubtedly, one of the most-awaited new car launches during Diwali 2016. Ever since its unveiling (as a concept) at this year’s Auto Expo, the crossover has remained in limelight, thanks to multiple spy shots we have seen throughout the year. With high-level of localization, the Ignis is estimated to be priced between Rs 5 lakh – Rs 7 lakh (ex-showroom). At this price, it will face challenge from Mahindra KUV100 that costs from Rs 4.56 lakh to Rs 7.02 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Unlike the Baleno and the S-Cross, the upcoming Maruti crossover will be retailed via NEXA dealerships.
In India, the Ignis could be brought with a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.3-litre diesel engines producing 83bhp with 115Nm and 74bhp with 190Nm respectively. Both the mills could be coupled either to a 5-speed manual gearbox or an AMT. With compact design and tall stance, the Ignis could come as a practical option for city buyers. It will come with a luggage area of 258-litres that can be made up to 415-litre by folding rear seats. The crossover will have several comfort and safety features on offer.
