2. Maruti Baleno RS
The Maruti Baleno RS will be the second most promising product from the Indo-Japanese carmaker this Diwali. The RS is the performance-version of the regular Baleno hatch and was first showcased at the Auto Expo alongside the Ignis and Vitara Brezza. This hot hatch will come fitted with a more powerful 1.0-litre Boosterjet petrol motor that is good for 110bhp and 170Nm. With such power figures, the Baleno RS will take on the Volkswagen Polo GT TSI. There will be a new 6-speed automatic transmission, produced locally in India.
This performance-oriented Baleno will carry edgier and sportier styling than the regular model. Maruti Suzuki will offer a sport kit with the hatchback that will include bigger alloy wheels, lots of chrome elements, body-decals, etc. There will be additional safety features as well – side airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system, all four disc brakes and radar-based brake support.
