October-November Will Be Action-Packed – 13 New Launches

The next two months will be action-packed as several new product launches have been planned across different segments. Over a dozen new cars, bikes and scooters are ready to hit roads. Here’s a look at the top 13 new four-wheels and two-wheelers, which are scheduled to launch in October and November 2021.

Tata Punch

Tata Punch Multi Drive Modes teaser

Tata Motors will unveil the Punch micro SUV on 4th October and its launch will happen near around Diwali. It will come in four trims, 6 colour options and the Altroz’s 1.2L Revotron petrol engine. The gasoline unit, with manual and AMT gearbox, delivers a top power of 85bhp and 113Nm of torque. Based on the HBX concept, the Tata Punch will be the smallest and most affordable SUV from the home-grown carmaker in the country. Its interior looks similar to the Altroz. Though, it has more boot space than its premium hatchback silbing.

MG Astor

MG Astor is ready to challenge the Hyundai Creta that’s currently ruling the mid-size SUV segment. The SUV will be launched on October 7, 2021. As per the leaked information, the model will be offered in 8 trims and two petrol engines – 110bhp, 1.5L naturally aspirated and 140bhp, 1.3L turbo. While the smaller capacity motor will come with 5-speed manual and 8-speed CVT automatic gearbox options, the potent one will be available with a 6-speed torque convertor automatic unit. The Astor has been packed with several segment-first features including ADAS, a personal AI assistant and heated ORVMs.

Toyota Fortuner Legender 4X4

The facelifted Toyota Fortuner, which was launched earlier this year, will get new Legender 4X4 variant in coming weeks. Currently, the Legender variant is available with the 2WD system and a 6-speed automatic gearbox. No other changes will be made to the vehicle. The SUV comes with the 2.7L petrol (166bhp/245Nm) and 2.8L diesel (204bhp/420Nm) engine options. The oil burner with automatic gearbox delivers a maximum torque of 500Nm. The new Toyota Fortuner Legender 4X4 prices are reported to be announced on 8th October 2021.

Skoda Rapid Matte Edition

Previewed at the 2020 Auto Expo, the Skoda Rapid Matte Edition will debut in its production avatar in coming weeks. Though, the automaker hasn’t yet revealed its launch date. Painted in Matte Grey shade, the model has gloss black finish on the front grille, front and boot spoilers, ORVMs and diffuser. It has been equipped with the 16-inch alloy wheels with gloss black finish. The Tellur Grey interior with black Alcantara seat upholstery enhances its cabin feel and appeal. The Rapid Matte Edition will use the same 108bhp, 1.0L turbo petrol engine with 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox options.

Mahindra XUV700

Mahindra’s new 5/7-seater SUV – XUV700 – has already started arriving at dealership ahead of its launch in October. The leaked scans reveal that its 7-seater petrol and diesel variants will be priced between Rs 12.69 lakh – Rs 20.69 lakh and Rs 13.19 lakh – Rs 20.19 lakh respectively. While the 5-seater petrol models will be priced from Rs 11.99 lakh to Rs 18.49 lakh, the diesel variants will cost between Rs 12.49 lakh – Rs 19.49 lakh. Powering the new Mahindra XUV700 petrol is the 2.0L turbo motor that’s good for 200bhp and 380Nm and the diesel version will use the 2.2L mHawk unit making 155bhp with 360Nm and 185bhp with 420Nm.

New-Gen Maruti Celerio

The new-generation Maruti Suzuki Celerio is reported to see a release in the month of November. The hatchback will come with angular design stance, up-market interior and the WagonR’s more refined engine along with the existing one. It will also get the factory-fitted CNG kit. Both manual and AMT gearboxes will be on offer. One of the major changes will come in the form of the lightweight Heartect platform that will make it more rigid and safer than before. The lightweight body build will also aid to its fuel efficiency and performance.

Updated Volkswagen Tiguan

2021 VW Tiguan 5-seater

The 5-seater Volkswagen Tiguan is ready to comeback with the BS6-ready 2.0L TSI turbo petrol engine along with slightly improved design and up-marker interior. The SUV will get a touchscreen climate control instead of buttons and knobs. On the exterior, it will get a newly-designed grille, LED matrix headlamps, front and rear bumper, 18-inch alloy wheels, taillamps with new LED elements and slightly repositioned badge. As mentioned above, the 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan facelift will use the same 190bhp, 2.0L TSI turbo petrol engine that does duty in the Tiguan AllSpace.

The 2021 KTM RC125 was recently unveiled alongside the new KTM RC390 via official images. Noticeable changes have been made to the model. The new RC125 comes with the new braking system and suspension setup enhancing its overall performance and ride quality. Powering the bike will be the 124.7cc engine that pushes out a peak power of 14.3bhp. Compared to the outgoing model, the new one has 6mm longer wheelbase. It sits on the redesigned trellis frame , offer larger fuel tank (13.7-litres) and weighs 4.4kg lesser than before.

Updated BMW G310R, G310 GS

The BMW G 310R and G310 GS motorcycles are ready to get colour updates in coming weeks. Official bookings have already been commenced across the country. Both models will get the Kyanite Blue Metallic with Red rims and Cosmic Black Two paint schemes. The updated G310R and G310 GS model lineup will drop the Polar White and ’40 Years of GS’ colour schemes respectively. The latter one will come with a new Triple Black shade. In terms of design and features, the 2021 BMW G 310R and G310 GS will remain unchanged. The bikes will continue to come with the 313cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine making 33bhp and 28Nm.

New Baja Pulsar 250

Bajaj Auto has confirmed that it will launch the “biggest Pulsar” ever made by the company in the month of November. It’s likely to be the 2021 Bajaj Pulsar 250 with the new 220cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. The fuel injected motor returns power worth 24bhp and 20Nm of torque. The bike will get a more advanced gearbox. The new Pulsar 250 could also be the brand’s first non NS/LS Pulsar to get monoshock rear suspension. It will receive noticeable changes in terms of design. The bike might have a fully digital console with smartphone connectivity and multiple riding modes.

Updated Bajaj Dominar 400

The 2021 Bajaj Dominar 400 is reported to launch during the festive season that will begin on 7th October and end with Diwali on 4th November. The bike will receive a few cosmetic updates along with the new colour schemes. At present, it’s available in three dual-tone paint options. For power, the new Dominar 400 will use the same 373.3cc engine making 40bhp and 35Nm of torque. In fact, its braking and suspension systems will remain unchanged.

TVS Motor Company is ready to launch a new model on October 7, 2021. While the official teaser doesn’t reveal much about the upcoming model, it’s likely to be the 125cc Jupiter scooter. The model might use the Ntorq’s 124.8cc, single-cylinder engine making power worth 9.4bhp and 10.5Nm of torque. The suspension setup and braking mechanism could be carried forward from the Jupiter 110. The new 125cc scooter is expected to be offered with LED headlamp and taillamp, external fuel filler cap, USC charger and digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity.

BMW C400 GT

BMW Motorrad will soon launch its first maxi-scooter in the country. Called the BMW C 400 GT, the scooter derives its power from a 350cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine benefited with the new ‘e-gas’ technology. The motor, with a CVT gearbox, delivers a claimed power of 33.5bhp and 35Nm of torque. It can attain a top speed of 139km. The model is likely to be offered in 3 colours, namely, Moonwalkgrey Metallic, Alpine White and Blackstorm Metallic. Features like a TFT screen, USB charging socket and keyless ride will be on offer.
