New TVS 125cc Scooter Launch On 7th Oct – Jupiter 125?

TVS Motor Company recently introduced the new Raider 125cc motorcycle in Drum and Disc brake variants, which are priced at Rs 77,500 and Rs 85,469 respectively. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi. Now, the company is ready to further expand its 125cc product portfolio with the launch of a new 125cc scooter that’s slated to launch on October 7, 2021. While the Chennai-based two-wheeler maker hasn’t yet revealed the name and details of the upcoming model, it’s rumoured to be the TVS Jupiter 125.

The latest teaser image reveals that the upcoming new TVS 125cc scooter will feature LED DRLs at the front end. For power, the new TVS Jupiter 125 is expected to use the NTorq 125’s 124.8cc, single-cylinder engine with fuel injection system. The motor has been tuned for generating two different power outputs – 9.4PS with 10.5Nm (NTorq Standard model) and 10.2PS with 10.8Nm (NTorq Race XP Edition).

The new TVS 125cc scooter is likely to come with its lower-powered version. Its suspension and braking mechanism will be similar to the Jupiter 110. The new TVS Jupiter 125 will be a family-oriented scooter with a more powerful engine and lots of goodies. Its official details, however, yet to be revealed. The model is expected to come with a digital instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity, USB charger, LED headlamp, external fuel filler cap and LED taillamp.

Once launched, it will be take head-to-head against multiple 125cc scooters including Hero Masestro Edge, Honda Activa, Suzuki Access and Yamaha Fascino.

In other updates, TVS is planning to launch multiple electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers with power output ranging from 5 to 25 kilowatts in the next couple of years. The company has already made an investment of Rs 1,000 crore on its EV business. Its EV development project includes a team of over 500 engineers. In coming months, the Chennai-based two-wheeler maker will roll out the updated TVS iQube and make it available across the nation before the end of the fiscal year.
