Tata Punch Micro SUV Coming On 4th Oct – What We Know So Far

Tata Motors is all set to unveil its upcoming Punch micro SUV on October 4, 2021. Its prices, however, are expected to be around Diwali (possibly in the last few weeks of October). The automaker has already released its official images revealing its exterior and interior details. Ahead of its official launch, the model has started reaching at dealerships across the nation. In fact, select dealers have begun taking pre-orders at token amount of Rs 5,000 – Rs 21,000. Here’re all details of the new Tata Punch mini SUV that we know so far.

Tata Punch Variants, Colours

As per the leaked information, the new Tata micro SUV will be offered in a total of 12 variants spread across four trims – Pure, Adventure, Accomplished and Creative.  Buyers will have three monotone and 6 dual-tone colour options to choose from. While the single-tone shades are Bronze, Grey and White, the dual-tone colour palette includes White with Black roof, Blue with White roof, Grey with Black roof, Urban Bronze with Black roof, Stonehenge with Black roof and Orange with Black roof. One must note that the dual-tone paint schemes will be exclusively offered on the higher trims.

Interior layout of the new Tata micro SUV shares resemblance to the Altroz premium hatchback. The small SUV has a minimalistic, dual-tone (Black and White) dashboard and horizontal air-con vents with bezels. It offers a free-floating touchscreen infotainment system, sourced from Harman. The unit supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Tata’s iRA connected car tech is likely to be reserved for the range-topping variants. The official teasers reveal that the Punch will come with a few segment-first features including traction modes, hill start assist and hill decent control.

Some of its key features will include a digital analogue instrument cluster, a flat-bottom steering wheel with mounted control buttons, automatic climate control, engine start-stop button, power windows in the front, electrically adjustable ORVMs and fabric upholstery with some grey pattern. The White silver accents on the digital-analogue instrument cluster and door handle will add more to its interior feel and appeal.

Tata Punch Dimensions

If reports are to be believed, the Punch will be 3840mm long, 1800mm wide and 1635mm tall. Compared to the HBX concept, the production model is around 22mm narrower. The mini SUV sits on a 2450mm long wheelbase and has a 187mm on ground clearance. Interestingly, it’s reported to offer a boot space of 366-litres that’s 21-litre more than Altroz.

Tata Punch Engines

Official engine details of the Punch mini SUV are yet to be revealed by the automaker. Though, its reported to be offered with the 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine borrowed from the Altroz premium hatchback. The motor pushes out a peak power of 85 bhp and 113 Nm of torque. The new Tata small SUV will come with the 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox options.

Expected Prices

According to the leaked information, the upcoming Punch mini SUV will be priced between Rs 4.99 lakh – Rs 8.29 lakh (ex-showroom).
