Top 14 New Car/SUV Launches In Next 3 Months

Only three months left and 2021 will bid a farewell to us. Despite multiple challenges including the chip shortage, the year has been exciting for the Indian automobile industry. It witnessed several new product launches along with a slightly shift towards the electric mobility. The remaining 3 months will also be action-packed as there will be more than 14new car and SUV launches across different segments.

Here’s a list of the top 14 upcoming new cars that will arrive by the end of 2021. One must note that some of them are confirmed and a few are expected launches.   

MG Astor

MG Astor SUV Bookings

MG Astor SUV will be put up against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Skoda Kushaq. It will go on sale in the first week of October 2021. The model lineup will come in 5 trims, 5 colours and 2 petrol engine options – 138bhp, 1.3L turbo and 108bhp, 1.5L NA. There will be three gearboxes on offer. The SUV looks sporty and offers several class-leading features.

Toyota Belta

Toyota Belta

According to a fresh media report, Toyota’s re-badged Maruti Ciaz will be called Toyota Belta. Its production is reported to be underway at the company’s Manesar based facility. The Belta will carry differently designed grille featuring Toyota logo. It might also get newly-designed alloys and new colour scheme. For power, the sedan will use the same 104bhp, 1.5L NA petrol engine with 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic gearbox options.

New Jeep Compass Trailhawk

The updated Jeep Compass Trailhawk is expected to hit roads during 2021 festive season. The SUV will come with improved approach and departure angles along with revised styling and upgraded interior. Powering the new 2021 Compass Trailhawk will be the same 2.0L Multijet diesel engine with a 9-speed automatic gearbox. The oil burner delivers 170bhp and 350Nm of torque.

New Force Gurkha

Prices of the new Force Gurkha will be announced on 27th September and its deliveries will start from 15th October 2021. The compact off-road SUV gets the BS6-ready diesel engine along with noticeable feature upgrades and more rugged design elements. Sitting on the modified platform, the new Gurkha complies with the new crash test and pedestrian safety standards.

Skoda Rapid Matte Edition

If reports are to be believed, the Skoda Rapid Matte Edition will hit showrooms by the end of September 2021. The model was showcased in its concept avatar at the 2020 Auto Expo, and its final version is likely to retain most of the design elements. It will be based on the top-end Style trim and will be the first Skoda model in factory painted Matte colour. The Rapid Matte Edition will come with the same 110bhp, 1.0L turbo petrol engine with manual and automatic gearbox options.

Tata Punch

Tata Punch SUV Design

Tata Punch micro SUV will see a release in the month of October. Its launch date is yet to be announced. Based on the HBX concept, the mini SUV is likely to come with the 1.2L NA petrol and 1.2L turbo petrol engines making 85bhp and 100bhp respectively. Both manual and AMT gearboxes will be on offer. Some of its design bits, interior layout and features will be borrowed from the Altroz hatchback.

Tata Tiago, Tigor, Altroz CNG

The home-grown carmaker will also bring in the CNG variants of its three popular models, namely, Tigor, Tiago and Altroz. All three CNG models have been caught on camera during their test rounds. The Tata Tiago, Tigor and Altroz will get CNG kit with the 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol engine. The power output might witness a marginal drop. The new CNG variants are likely to be around Rs 40,000 – Rs 50,000 more expensive than their ICE counterparts.

The new-generation Maruti Celerio is reported to launch towards the end of 2021. The hatchback will grow in size and come with more angular design and upmarket interior. This time around, the Celerio will come with two petrol engine options – the existing 69bhp, 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol and the WagonR’s 82bhp, 1.2L petrol motor. There will also be a CNG variant. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual and an AMT unit.

Maruti Swift, Dzire CNG

The Indo-Japanese automaker is testing the CNG variants of the Swift, Dzire and Vitara Brezza, which are reported to launch by the end of 2021. The Swift and Dzire CNG models will come with the 1.2L Dualjet K12C petrol engine coupled with a factory-fitted CNG kit. In CNG mode, both models will deliver power worth 70bhp with 95Nm of torque. Similar to the Ertiga CNG, the Swift and Dzire’s Dualjet motor will receive dual interdependent ECUs and intelligent injection system.

Mahindra’s new 5/7-seater SUV will go on sale in October 2021. Called the Mahindra XUV700, the model will come in 4 variants spread across 4 trims – MX, AX3, AX5 and AX7. Buyers will have 7 monotone exterior colour options to choose from. The Mahindra XUV700 will be the most powerful vehicle in its segment. It will be offered with the 197bhp, 2.0L turbo petrol and 182bhp, 2.2L turbo diesel engines and manual and automatic gearbox options.

Mahindra Marazzo AMT

Mahindra Marazzo AMT

Mahindra Marazzo AMT is reported to launch towards the end of 2021. The new model will come with the BS6-compliant 1.5L turbo diesel engine paired to the ‘AutoShift’ AMT gearbox. The oil burner is currently available with a 6-speed manual transmission and FWD system. It pushes out a peak power of 12bhp and 300Nm of torque. No changes will be made to its design and features.
