Recently, the Tata Altroz CNG was caught on camera during its test rounds in Pune. The factory-fitted CNG kit could be introduced on select variants of the hatchback. At present, the Altroz model lineup comes in 7 trims – XE, XM, XM+, XT, XZ, XZ (O) and XZ+. The CNG kit will be offered with the 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol engine that’s good for 85bhp and 113Nm. The 1.2L turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel engines won’t get the CNG kit.

Similarly, the Tata Tiago CNG and Tigor CNG will be available with the 1.2L naturally aspirated engine. The CNG variants might witness a marginal power drop. The Tata Nexon CNG is likely to come with the 1.2L petrol motor coupled with the CNG kit. Prices of the upcoming Tata CNG cars are expected to be around Rs 40,000 – Rs 50,000 higher than their IC engine-powered counterparts.

As of now, the home-grown automaker is gearing up to launch its first micro SUV – Tata Punch. Its bookings have already been commenced at dealership level, while launch will take place next month (October 2021). The mini SUV, which is essentially the production version of the Tata HBX concept, will share its platform with the Altroz hatchback. Sporting Tata’s Impact 2.0 design language, the Punch will come with the 1.2L naturally aspirated and turbocharged petrol engines. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual and an AMT.
