New 2021 Force Gurkha Specs, Features, Photos Revealed – Thar Rival

The much-awaited new-generation Force Gurkha has finally been unveiled in the country. The compact off-road SUV is scheduled to be launched on the September 27, 2021. Bookings will also commence on the same day, while deliveries are being promised from October 15 (Dusshera). The 2021 Force Gurkha has received significant cosmetic changes and looks rugged than its predecessor. It has more premium cabin along with the BS6-compliant diesel powertrain.

The new Gurkha comes with the BS6-complaint 2.6-litre diesel engine that’s claimed to deliver a peak power of 91PS and 250Nm of torque. Transmission duties are taken care of by a 5-speed manual gearbox. The SUV has been offered with the standard 4WD (four-wheel drive) system with manual front and rear locking differentials. It also gets front and rear anti-roll bars, and an air-intake snorkel.

The new Force Gurkha 2021 has dark grey interior theme and seat upholstery. It’s being made available with 4-seats configuration with a pair of captain seats for the rear row passengers. The list of features also includes a semi-digital instrument cluster, new all-black dashboard with a Kenwood stereo system, four speakers, two USB sockets, manual AC, tilt and telescopic steering, central locking and rear-seat armrests. For the safety provision, the Gurkha offers dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, a tyre pressure monitoring system, speed alert, seat belt reminders, and one-touch lane-change indicator.

The compact off-roader also underpins the updated ladder frame chassis and complies to the new crash test and pedestrian safety norms. Force has completely redesigned its panels with new glass panes for the windows and windscreens. While it retains the upright, boxy stance, the LED headlights with DRLs and fog lamps are entirely new units. The front grille and bumpers with black cladding have also been tweaked. Some of its design highlights include pronounced wheel arches, blacked out roof rails with a functional rack, black snorkel, 16-inch steel wheel, front fenders integrated turn indicators and vertically positioned taillamps and LED stop lamp.

Dimensions

Compared to the old 3-door version, the new-generation Gurkha is 124mm longer, 22mm wider and 20mm taller. Its overall length, width and height stand at 4116mm, 1812mm and 2075mm respectively. The off-roader sits on a 2400mm long wheelbase.

Colours

The new Force Gurkha 2021 comes in a choice of five colours – Green, Orange, Red, White and Grey.
