Mahindra is all set to announce the prices of the 7-seater XUV700 and few variants of the 5-seater model. Most of the details of the Mahindra XUV700 have already been revealed. The SUV will be offered in 4 trim levels – MX, AX3, AX5 and AX7 – and in total of 34 variants with multiple engine & gearbox combinations.
Using Twitter, Mahindra had revealed that the new XUV700 will be offered in 5 colour options including Dazzling Silver, Everest White, Red Rage, Electric Blue and Midnight Black. According to the source code of Mahindra’s website reveals that the new XUV700 will be offered in 7 colour options. It will come with two additional colour options – Rave Copper & Galaxy Grey. What’s interesting is that the new Mahindra XUV700 won’t be offered with a dual-tone colour option.
It is reported that the new Mahindra XUV700’s MX trim will only be offered in a 5-seat configuration. The AX3 and the AX4 trims will come in both 5-and 7-seat configurations. The top-spec AX7 trim will only come with 7-seat option along with 3 different packages – COMFORT, LUXURY & TECH.
The all-wheel-drive layout will be offered on the top-spec AX7 trim. It was speculated that the automatic version of the SUV will come with AWD layout. However, the website source code confirms that both manual and automatic gearbox options will have AWD layout.
The new Mahindra XUV700 will be offered with two engine options – a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol and a 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel. The diesel engine offers two states of tunes – the MX trim in 153bhp and 360Nm of torque, and 182bhp and 420Nm of torque. The petrol engine is capable of producing 197bhp and 380Nm of torque. The diesel engine will be offered with 4 driving modes – Zip, Zap, Zoom and Custom. These drive modes are claimed to alter performance and steering response.
The 5-seater XUV700 will be positioned against the likes of the Tata Harrier, MG Hector, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and the Skoda Kushaq. On the other hand, the 7-seater model will rival the Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar and the MG Hector Plus.
