MG Astor Bookings Start With Navratri; Price Unveil In Early October

Official bookings for the upcoming MG Astor mid-size SUV will begin online in the first week of October 2021. It’s likely to start with Navratri on 7th October. The automaker will also announce prices, variant and feature details of the vehicle early next month. The model is currently on display at authorized MG dealerships across the nation. With the launch of Astor, the company aims to retail 7,000 – 8,000 units per month once supply chain stabilizes.

Expected Price Range

The Astor SUV is estimated to be priced between Rs 10 lakh – Rs 17 lakh (ex-showroom). In this price range, it will take head-to-head against Hyundai Creta, Skoda Kushaq, Kia Seltos and the upcoming Volkswagen Taigun. Reports suggest that the new MG SUV will come in five variants – Style, Super, Smart, Sharp and Savvy.

Power of Petrol Engines

Buyers will have two petrol engines to choose from – 1.3L turbocharged and 1.5L VTi naturally aspirated unit. While the former delivers power worth 138bhp and 220Nm of torque with a 6-speed automatic gearbox, the latter pushes out a peak power of 108bhp and 144Nm of torque with a manual and an 8-speed CVT automatic transmission. MG has confirmed that its upcoming mid-size SUV will be offered in 5 exterior paint schemes, namely, Spiced Orange, Starry Black, Glaze Red, Candy White and Aurora Silver.
