Tata Punch Reaches Dealerships – Exterior, Interior Explained

Tata Punch micro SUV has started arriving at the dealerships across the country. Unofficial bookings for the vehicle have already been commenced at token amount ranging from Rs 5000 – Rs 21000. The model will go on sale in the month of October within estimated price range of Rs 5 lakh – Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom). The Punch will be the smallest and most affordable Tata SUV in the country. The new Tata mini SUV will be the brand’s first SUV and second production model to be designed on the Alfa (Agile Light Flexible Advanced) platform. It will feature Tata’s Impact 2.0 design language and share some of its design elements with Harrier and Safari. Its glossy black front grille looks similar to the Nexon subcompact SUV. The Punch also features pronounced wheel arches, 16-inch diamond cut, dual-tone alloy wheels, black body cladding, faux skid plates, blacked out pillars and ORVMs with integrated turn indicators and roof rails. At the back, it gets connected wrap around LED taillamps and a roof mounted spoiler.

Similar to the HBX concept, the production-ready Tata Punch features dual-tone interior theme. It offers a free standing 7-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto connectivity and Tata iRA connected car features. The micro SUV comes with a multi function steering wheel with mounted controls and an HVAC system. The Punch is claimed to provide ‘absolute safety’ and is likely to come with dual airbags, ABS, EBD, rear parking camera and sensors.

Powering the new Tata Punch mini SUV will be a 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol and 1.2L turbocharged petrol engine. While the former will deliver power worth 85bhp with 113Nm of torque, the latter will make around 100bhp. It can be had with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox.
