Mahindra Marazzo Automatic Launch This Year – Report

Mahindra Marazzo MPV model lineup will soon be extended with the addition of new automatic variant. According to a fresh media report, the carmaker might roll out the 2021 Mahindra Marazzo automatic (AMT) variant towards the end of this year. The new AMT (automated manual transmission) will be offered with the BS6-compliant 1.5L turbocharged diesel engine that’s good enough for 123bhp and 300Nm of torque. It could be named as ‘AutoShift’ technology. Currently, the oil burner comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox and FWD (front-wheel drive) system. At present, the Mahindra Marazzo is available in 6 variants spread across three trims – M2, M4, M6+. The MPV can be had with either 7-seats layout or 8-seats configuration. The entry-level M2 variant comes with a price tag of Rs 12.03 lakh and the top-end M6+ 8-seater version costs Rs 14.12 lakh (all, ex-showroom).

The range-topping M6+ variant has been offered with some exclusive features including projector headlamps with follow-me-home function, 17-inch alloy wheels, rear view camera, fog lamps with cornering function, adjustable lumbar support for front seats passengers, a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, on-board navigation and driver window one-touch operation.

In other updates, Mahindra & Mahindra is ready to launch the XUV700 SUV during 2021 festive season. The model will share its underpinnings with the new Thar and have longer wheelbase and spacious cabin than the XUV500. It’s reported to be offered with the new 2.2L mHawk diesel and 2.0L mFalcon turbocharged petrol engine options. While the former will make power close to 185bhp, the latter will deliver 190bhp. There will be 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearboxes on offer.

After the Mahindra XUV700, the home-grown carmaker will bring in the new-generation Mahindra Scorpio. The SUV will witness significant design and feature upgrades along with more powerful engines. Recently, the new model was spotted testing in sand dunes of Rajasthan. It confirms that the SUV will come with the 4X4 drivetrain system.
