The new Tata H7X SUV will share its platform (L550) with the Land Rover Discovery Sport.

Tata Motors has been on a roll from the last few years, and took the auto industry by storm with its new IMPACT design language. The carmaker recently unveiled the new-generation of the IMPACT design philosophy underpinning its new breed products – the Tata 45X premium hatchback and the Tata H5X SUV concepts. The home-grown carmaker also confirmed that it will challenge the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour with its all-new 7-seater premium SUV – Tata H7X.

For the first time, the new H7X SUV has been caught on camera during its test rounds in Ooty. The test mule was heavily camouflage covering exterior design details. Though, one can notice the wide wheel arches with alloy wheels, pronounced bonnet creases, large windscreen, thick pillars and the high ground clearance. Similar to the H5X, the new Tata H7X SUV will share its platform (L550) with the Land Rover Discovery Sport. Featuring Tata’s new-gen IMPACT design 2.0 design philosophy, the SUV is likely to feature a more prominent three-dimensional ‘Humanity Line’, bold fenders and fog lamps in tri-arrow pattern.

Unlike the H5X five-seater SUV, the H7X will be longer and offer an additional row of seats. The list of features might include infotainment system with HD display, sunroof, surround sound system, air vents for all three rows and six airbags.

Under the hood, the new Tata 7-seater SUV is likely to feature a 2.0-litre Multijet turbocharged diesel engine tuned for generating 170bhp of power at 3,750rpm and 350Nm of torque at 1,750rpm. Transmission choices might include a 6-speed manual and a ZF-sourced 9-speed automatic unit. Tata might source Terrain Response System and Independent suspension system from Land Rover for its new SUV.  Check Out – Upcoming Tata Cars in India
