Tata 45X is, certainly, one of the major highlights of the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. Besides showcasing its premium hatchback, Tata Motors has brought the all-new SUV H5X at the biennial event. Both the models underpin the brand’s new IMPACT Design 2.0 philosophy that marks a shift to bolder designs. The all-new premium hatchback is Tata’s first car to use the new AMP (Advanced Modular Platform). The carmaker claims that the new architecture is compatible to different lengths, widths, wheelbases and suspension setups.

Interestingly, the new Tata 45X hatchback has been designed jointly by Tata’s three design studios (Pune, Italy and UK) with inputs from Jaguar Land Rover. Some of the key highlights of the car include more prominent three-dimensional ‘Humanity Line’, fog lamps with ‘tri-arrow’ pattern, segment-leading wheel sizes and strong fenders. For people not in the know, the 45X will come as a replacement to the Bolt hatchback. However, it’s a more premium offering than the latter one. This new hatchback will lock horns against the Maruti Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20 and Honda Jazz.

Tata’s new IMPACT Design 2.0 philosophy has made its debut with the all-new 45X hatchback. Carrying bolder design, the car features more prominent three-dimensional ‘Humanity Line’ underlining the front grille and headlamps. Its fog lamp assembly has a new ‘tri-arrow’ pattern. The projector headlamps are integrated with LED daytime running lights (DRLs).

Moving to the sides, the first thing you will notice is the C-pillar integrated rear door handle. The same pattern is also seen on the new Maruti Swift and the Mahindra KUV100 NXT. The tapered roofline, plastic cladding around the body and pronounced wheel arches further enhance its sporty side looks. At the rear, the car gets LED taillights and a spoiler. In terms of dimensions, the new Tata hatchback measures sub 4-meter in length and has 200mm longer wheelbase than the Tiago. Read: Tata Nexon – All You Need To Know
