The latest entrant in the sub-compact SUV segment from the house of Honda – the WR-V – is turning out to be a triumph card for the company. In June 2017, the compact SUV entered the list of top 5 UVs (Utility Vehicle) of the country. Since the bookings for the Honda WRV kept pouring in, the company sold 4,894 units of the car in the month of July 2017. This also made it the top selling Honda car in the previous month.

Attributes that must have favoured the Honda WRV are its styling, feature-loaded cabin, most fuel efficient engines and the most importantly its aggressive pricing. Post GST, the prices of the compact SUV fell around Rs 10,000 that further helped the case. Aiming to boost its sales, Honda is planning to bring in a more powerful petrol iteration of the compact SUV.

With a total sales of 4,854 units, the all-new City became the second best-selling Honda in July 2017. The third and fourth spots were secured by Jazz hatchback and Amaze sub-compact sedan respectively. In fact, the company also managed to sell 1,042 units of the Honda BR-V. While the Brio hatchback registered sales of 396 units, the CR-V was the least volume maker with 15 units only.
