October 4, 2016 – Honda Cars India (HCI) has finally introduced the first facelift of the Brio hatchback in the country. The new Honda Brio 2016 facelift is available three trim levels – E, S and VX – priced between Rs 4.69 lakh – Rs 6.81 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The car receives cosmetic upgrades to both exterior and interior. The small car gets a new sportier front fascia that looks similar to the Honda Amaze 2016. Upfront, the car features a sporty front grille with high-gloss black and chrome finish and revised front bumper. Though, the side profile of the hatchback remains unchanged. The rear design, too, has been revised with new tail lamp and an all-new tailgate spoiler with LED high mount stop-lamp. The cabin has been directly lifted from the sedan sibling. HCI is offering a standard warranty of 2 year/ 40,000 kms on the hatchback.
The new Honda Brio 2016 facelift is being produced at its Tapukara plant in Rajasthan. The company also exported the first batch of the hatchback to South Africa, where it was recently launched at a starting price of ZAR 144,300 (Rs 6.23 lakh). New Honda Brio 2016 – Interior
The more comprehensive changes have made inside the car adding more to its premium feel and comfort level. The Honda Brio is now available with two interior theme options – Beige (standard) and Sporty Black (only for the top-spec VX variant). The car also gets new seat fabric that further enhances its overall sporty appearance. Other interior updates include all new instrument panel with carbon finish and silver accents and integrated air vents and a newly designed triple analog sporty meter with white illumination.
The updated model comes with several new features such as an advanced 2 DIN integrated audio with USB, Aux-in and Bluetooth connectivity and hands free telephony function and digital AC controls with max cool function. Besides this, the hatchback hosts a wide range of safety features including dual SRS airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), seat belt pretensioner with load limiters and impact mitigating headrests and front body structure with pedestrian injury mitigation technology.

Under the hood, the 2016 Honda Brio facelift continues to feature the very same 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder i-VTEC petrol engine. This powertrain is claimed to return 86.8bhp (88PS) of power at 6,000rpm and 109Nm of torque at 4,500rpm. The updated model comes with two gearbox options – a 5-speed manual (standard) and a 5-speed automatic (only on the VX trim).
