New Ford EcoSport Facelift Set to Launch During Festive Season

Featuring design changes and improved cabin, the new Ford EcoSport facelift will take on the likes of Maruti Vitara Brezza and Tata Nexon

It has been a while since Ford is testing the new EcoSport compact SUV on Indian roads. The facelifted model was recently introduced in the Chinese market. The updated model gets changes to exterior as well as interior. It comes equipped with revised hexagonal grille, completely redesigned front bumper with large squared-off fog lamps and LED daytime running lamps. The headlights design is similar to the existing car, but it is now larger in size. It has newly designed alloy wheels and slightly revised rear profile.

The cabin of the SUV will remain the same, but it will have some new features. The current model itself equipped with lots of features, but the updated model will get several new safety and security features. The SUV will also be equipped with Ford SYNC 3 infotainment system with 8-inch floating touchscreen system. This system is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Mechanics of the Ford EcoSport facelift will remain the same. It will continue to feature the existing 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engines. While the former is good for 110bhp of power and 140Nm of torque, the oil burner produces 99bhp of maximum power and 205Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

Besides, the SUV also has the 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine which is the most powerful in its league. It is capable of producing 124bhp of power and 170Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox. The Ford EcoSport facelift will rival the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Mahindra TUV300, Honda WRV and the soon-to-be launched Tata Nexon.
