New Honda CBR650F

After giving a glimpse of the new Honda CBT650F at the 2016 EICMA motor show, the company is now planning to bring the bike to the Asia’s largest motoring event, Delhi Auto Expo in February 2018. If reports in media are to be believed, the bike-maker could launch its new offering at the grandiose event. Suspension duties on the bike will be handled by the 41mm Showa dual bending valve forks in front and a 7-step adjustable monoshock at rear. It will additionally come with standard Nissin brake callipers with ABS. As for the power, the bike will continue using the same unit, albeit it will receive larger intake and exhaust system for improved performance. In terms of power, it will put out 89bhp with 62Nm of torque.

Honda XRE 300

Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India has lined-up a slew of launches for the Indian market including the XRE 300 that will be an adventure tourer. In its segment, it will squarely go against the segment leader Royal Enfield Himalayan. One must note that, Honda has patented this bike in India, and is likely to launch it early next year. In fact, this will be among the various other upcoming Honda bikes at Auto Expo 2018, therefore we hope to see more of it at the grandiose event. On the mechanical front, the bike will use the 291.6cc, fuel-injected, single cylinder engine tuned to make 25.4bhp against 27.6Nm torque and transmission duties will be handled by the 5-speed gearbox. Honda CBR300R

One of the other upcoming Honda bikes at Auto Expo 2018 will be the CBR300R. Set to replace the 250R model in Honda’s range, the bike was first revealed at the 2013 China International Motorcycle Trade exhibition and is now likely to enter the Indian market. Essentially a larger version of the CBR 250R, the bike measures 2,035mm in length, 720mm in width and 1,120m in height. The ground clearance measures at 145mm and the bike will come equipped with 110/70-17M/C front and 140/70-17M/C rear tyres. On the design front, it is expected to borrow cues from the higher CBR models, though Honda will inject new elements for an aggressive look. However, the handlebar and the instrument console will be retained from the 250R. Power on the new bike will come from the 286cc, single-cylinder, liquid -cooled fuel-injected engine good for 30.4bhp and 27Nm of torque. Honda PCX150

Along with other upcoming Honda bikes at the Auto Expo 2018, this moto scooter will also be part of the HMSI pavilion. Interestingly, the scooter was also displayed at the 2014 Auto Expo in Delhi, though the showcased model featured a 125cc unit, the production version is likely to use the larger 150cc engine. That said, PCX150 could derive power from the 153cc, single cylinder, 4-stroke, SOHC, liquid-cooled PGM-FI tuned to make 13.4bhp against 14Nm torque. This engine will be mated to a V-Matic automatic gearbox and will take on the likes of Aprilia SR 150 and Vespa 150 in the segment.

Honda Scooters At Auto Expo 2018

Honda Scoopy

Another upcoming Honda scooter at the Auto Expo 2018 is this model named ‘Scoopy’. The scooter is already available in markets including U.S where it is sold under ‘Metropolitan’ badge. Along with the U.S market, the scooter is also available in the Indonesian market. While HMSI has not revealed concrete details about the scooter, but it is expected to use the 109.19cc carburetted engine used in Honda Activa 4G. The BSIV compliant engine generates maximum power of 8bhp against 9Nm of torque. Upon its launch, Honda Scoopy will field against Fascino and Vespa models in the segment. In Indonesia, the model features styling bits like LED projector headlamp, parking brake and idling stop system, however it is not sure if these features will be offered on the India-spec model.

Honda CB Hornet 160R fully-faired

Honda recently added a BSIV compliant engine to its CB Hornet 160R model. The bike also received the mandatory Automatic Headlamp On feature along with two new colour options-Athletic Blue Metallic and Sports Red. While the naked streetfighter received a couple of changes lately, reports in media indicate a fully-faired version of the bike in is the making. Interestingly, this could be among the several upcoming Honda bikes at Auto Expo 2018, hence we will get to see more of the bike at the biennial event. As for the engine, it is likely to carry forward the same 162.7cc, single cylinder unit from the regular version. One must note that this unit makes 15.67bhp at 8500rpm against 14.76Nm torque at 6500rpm and comes mated to a 5-speed unit for transmitting power to wheels.
