Honda Cars At Auto Expo 2018

Honda has a couple of models up its sleeve for the Indian market in the next two years, while if we talk about the biennial event slated to begin in February next year, Honda is planning to showcase a mix of models. From facelifts to new-gen versions and new products, Honda is gearing up for a good show. Here’s a list of all the upcoming Honda cars at Auto Expo 2018, have a look.

Honda HR-V

Honda is planning to add another model to its SUV line-up with the new HR-V. Currently offered in other international markets, the SUV will be tweaked for the Indian market. Under the hood, the India-spec HR-V could come with a 118bhp, 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol unit along with a 118bhp, 1.6-litre i-DTEC oil burner that is likely to be used in other upcoming Honda cars at Auto Expo 2018 such as new Civic and CR-V. In addition to these, Honda could also use the 99bhp, 1.5-litre i-DTEC unit for the HR-V. Featuring a seven-seat layout, the SUV will compete with the likes of Mahindra XUV500, Tata Hexa, Toyota Innova Crysta and Hyundai Tucson. Read More

New-Generation Honda Civic

Gearing up for its return in India, the new-generation Honda Civic is among the several other upcoming Honda cars at Auto Expo 2018. The 10th generation model is currently available in several markets, while India had the 8th gen model, it will also receive the new version with tweaks made for the Indian market. In India, the all new Civic is expected to come with a 1.6-liytre i-DTEC diesel unit with 118bhp of power and 300Nm torque. While the petrol trims are expected to derive power from either a 1.5-litre or a 1.8-litre unit. Transmission duties on the other hand will be taken care of by the 6-speed manual and an optional CVT. Honda Amaze 2018

First launched in 2013, Amaze was the first model in the line-up to feature Honda’s 1.5-litre i-DTEC oil burner. While its facelift version with new features and improved interior was launched last year in India, the company is now preparing a new-generation model that is said to be in its final testing phase. Knowing that Amaze is a volume product for the company, Honda is planning a grand launch for the subcompact sedan. That said it is one of the highly awaited upcoming Honda cars at Auto Expo 2018, that will be launched amid much fanfare and media glare at the biennial event.  Under the skin, it will remain unchanged, deriving power from the same 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines. Honda Jazz Facelift

After a generation change in 2015, Jazz started off its new innings in the Indian market. However, the path still seems to be patchy for the premium hatchback and it is getting ready for another facelift. Expected to get minor aesthetic changes, Honda is likely to improve the NVH levels of the diesel engine. Besides, it will receive new connectivity tech along with a host of comfort goodies such as a 7.0-inch DigiPad touchscreen infotainment system that is currently offered in City. New Generation Honda CR-V

Honda CR-V will receive a generation change sometime next year. The popular model from Honda’s stable lost sheen in the segment owning to lack of diesel engine, high pricing and fierce competition. As demand for SUVs in on rise, Honda will roll out CR-V with seven-seat layout, more features, new diesel engine and cosmetic updates. As for the engine choices, it is expected to come with a 1.6-litre i-DTEC unit with 157bhp and 350Nm torque. This engine will be accompanied by the 2.4-litre i-VTEC unit that makes 153.86bhp against 190Nm. Both the engines will be mated to a ZF sourced 9-speed automatic gearbox.
