The biennial event will give a preview of upcoming bikes and will play host to several concepts, while some bike manufacturers may choose to launch their new models at the motoring show. TVS Bikes at Auto Expo 2018

2018 TVS Apache RTR 160

Apache RTR 160 - Bikes at Auto Expo 2018

TVS Motors will soon give its popular bike, Apache 160 a design update. The company has already started testing the model and seems like it will share most of the design and styling cues with the larger Apache RTR 200 4V which launched last year. Among the key elements, expect the bike to get clear lens tail lamp, digital instrument console, new fuel tank and exhaust canister. For a better handling, the bike will get monoshock rear suspension set up instead of the dual-shock absorbers. It will additionally come with a single seat layout. Power source on the bike will be retained, which means it will continue using the same 159.7cc unit linked to a 5-speed gearbox. In terms of power, the engine makes 15.2bhp against 13.1Nm torque. Akin to the predecessor, the model will receive an optional rear disc brake.

2018 TVS Apache RTR 180

TVS Apache RTR 180 - Bikes at Auto Expo 2018

Along with Apache 160, TVS is also likely to bring Apache RTR 180 to the biennial event alongside other upcoming bikes at Auto Expo 2018. The Apache RTR 180 is also expected to receive a major facelift. Changes on the bike will be similar as on the smaller sibling, Apache 160. That said, expect it to receive clear lens headlamps, monoshock rear suspension set up, digital instrument console, new fuel tank and new exhaust canister. Unlike Apache 160, the model is likely to get a choice between single and split seat layout. There will be no change in the mechanics and the bike will continue using the same 177cc, single cylinder unit with 17.30bhp at 8,500rpm and 15.50Nm torque at 6,500rpm. Transmission duties will be carried over by the 5-speed gearbox and it could come with an optional ABS system.

TVS Graphite Scooter

The long-awaited Graphite scooter in its production avatar, will be unveiled alongside other upcoming new bikes & Scooters at Auto Expo 2018. As a reminder, TVS had unveiled the Graphite concept scooter at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo. Details on the engine specs are yet to be revealed by the automaker, but it is expected to feature a new 150cc fuel injected engine. The company could opt for 125cc engine. Delivering power to the rear wheel will be an AMT gearbox with paddle shifters.

TVS Electric Scooter

TVS Motors is currently testing an electric scooter, which is expected to be launched in the first half of 2018. Design bits and components of the new TVS electric scooter will be sourced from the current TVS scooters such as Jupiter, Scooty Zest and Wego. Similar to the Jupiter, this electric scooter will come with a lightly stepped and comfortable seat.

Primarily a larger version of CBR 250R, the new Honda CBR300R will replace former in Honda’s line-up. The model was first revealed at the 2013 China International Motorcycle Trade exhibition and is likely to be showcased alongside other upcoming new Honda Bikes at the Auto Expo 2018. In terms of proportions, the bike will measure 2,035mm in length, 720mm in width and 1,120mm in height. Ground clearance is around 145mm and it will ride on 110/70-17M/C and 140/70-17M/C tyres at front and rear. In terms of design, the model will take inspiration from higher CBR models.  While the instrument console and handlebar will be carried over from the 250R. Power on the bike will be sourced from the 286cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled fuel-injected engine good for 30.4bhp against 27Nm. Transmission duties will be taken care by a six-speed unit.

New Honda CB Hornet 160R Fully Faired Model

Japanese two-wheeler automaker will launch a fully-faired CB Hornet 160R in the Indian market in 2018. Though, Honda is yet to make an official announcement on the same. This fully-faired version of the Hornet will challenge the Suzuki Gixxer 155 and could be unveiled at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. Powering the motorcycle will be a 162.71cc single-cylinder engine churns out 15.04bhp of power and 14.76Nm of torque. Power will be transmitted to the rear wheel via a 5-speed gearbox.

Honda Scoopy

Next in our list of upcoming new bikes at Auto Expo 2018 is the long-awaited Honda Scoopy scooter. This automatic scooter will be positioned against the Yamaha Fascino and TVS Jupiter. This lifestyle scooter will be equipped with several high-end features. Globally, the scooter comes fitted with fuel injection system. However, the India-spec model will have a carburetted powertrain paired to a V-matic gearbox. This BS4-compliant unit produces 8bhp and 9Nm of torque.

Honda Rebel 300

Seeing the growing demand for cruisers and dual-purpose motorcycles, Honda is planning to launch a cruiser motorcycle in the country. To be based on Honda Rebel 300, the new motorcycle is likely to be unveiled along with other new bikes at Auto Expo 2018. This cruiser will rival the likes of Royal Enfield Thunderbird and Bajaj Dominar 400. Powering the motorcycle is a 286cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 27bhp and 24Nm of torque.

Honda PCX 150

Honda first showcased the PCX 150 moto-scooter at the 2014 Auto Expo and is now likely join other upcoming bikes at the Auto Expo 2018. It is expected that Honda could launch the model early next year at the biennial event. As for the features, the scooter will feature enhanced smart power, theft proof system and smart navigation. For power generation, it will use a 153cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, SOHC liquid-cooled PGM-FI unit paired to a V-Matic automatic transmission.

TAlong with the above models, Honda is also planning to launch an adventurer tourer in India that will take on the likes of Royal Enfield Himalayan. It is one of the eagerly awaited upcoming Honda bikes at Auto Expo 2018 and Honda has already patented the bike in India. Power is drawn by the 291.6cc fuel-injected, single cylinder, air-cooled engine that makes 25.4bhp against 27.6Nm torque and power is transmitted to rear wheels through a 5-speed gearbox.

Set for its debut in 2018, Yamaha R15 V3.0 will be displayed next to several other upcoming Yamaha bikes at Auto Expo 2018. The fully-faired bike is also sold in other Asian markets including Indonesia and Vietnam. The bike is now slightly more powerful and fuel-efficient. It gets copious cosmetic changes such as new sharper headlamps, fuel tank contours and fairing among others. Built on the modified Delta Box with new swing arm, it comes with a new 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine with SOHC technology. In terms of power, it makes 19.3bhp of power against 14.7Nm torque and comes paired to a six-speed gearbox.

New Yamaha R3

Yamaha discontinued its fully-faired bike, YZF-R3 in India after the ban of BSIII engines. The company is now planning to launch an updated version of the bike in India and is expected to be seen at the biennial event along with other upcoming Yamaha bikes at Auto Expo 2018. It will be powered by the same 321cc, in-line, twin-cylinder engine with 42PS and 29.6Nm torque. Suspension duties will be carried over by 41mm telescopic forks up front and a monoshock absorbers at rear. The model will get new design and styling updates for a sportier look. It will additionally receive new graphics and stickers, inspired by the new Yamaha R6.

The Japanese bike maker is also contemplating bringing its global model, Yamaha Mt-03 naked streetfighter to India. It is believed that Yamaha could launch the bike at the 2018 Auto Expo early next year. Primarily a naked version of the fully-faired YZF-R3 motorcycle showcased at the Auto Show, MT-03 is expected to draw power from the 321cc, twin cylinder engine. In terms of power, the engine makes 41.6bhp of power against 29.6Nm of torque. For transmitting power to rear wheels it could use a six-speed gearbox.

While Yamaha will bring new bikes at Auto Expo 2018, the company is also planning to get the Nozza Grande scooter to India. Featuring European styling, it is expected to be a contemporary scooter and if all goes as planned, Yamaha could unveil the scooter at the biennial event. The positioning of the model will be so that it will aim for both male and female customers. In Yamaha’s line-up Nozza Grande will be slotted above Fascino and it will use 125cc, single cylinder SOHC unit with 8.2PS of power along with 9.7Nm of torque. In addition, there could also be a 113cc engine with 7.1PS and 8.1Nm torque. Transmission duties will be carried over by a CVT unit.

The next model on the list of upcoming new bikes at Auto Expo 2018 is the long-awaited naked streetfighter, Xtreme 200S. Hero had first brought to the 13th edition of the motoring show and upon its launch the bike will take on rivals such as Bajaj Pulsar 200NS and TVS Apache RTR 200 4V. Sporting ‘Cheetah-inspired’ styling and new bits such as edgy headlamp with LED unit, LED taillamp and sculpted bonnet, the model bike looks sporty & aggressive. The bike will be based on the diamond tyre frame and will be powered by the 200cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine with 18.6PS and 17.2Nm torque.

Hero HX250R

Alongside other Hero bikes at Auto Expo 2018 will be the production-spec HX250R. The fully-faired motorcycle was first revealed in pre-production guise at last year’s Delhi Auto Expo. Hero will manufacture the bike locally at its production facility at Neemrana, Rajasthan. Powered by the 249cc, single cylinder, liquid-cooled petrol engine, the bike will come with the segment-first dual-riding modes. In terms of power, the engine put out 31bhp against 27Nm torque. While power will be channelized through a 6-speeed unit combined with a multi-plated wet clutch. It will additionally come with a standard Combi brake system and an optional anti-lock braking system (ABS).

Hero Zir 150

The world’s largest bikemaker will also bring in its new 150cc scooter, Zir 150 to the event which was first displayed at the 2014 Auto Expo. It is believed that the maxi scooter will be launched at Auto Expo 2018 amid much fanfare and media glare. The scooter as expected, will use a 157cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-valve engine that generates 13.9bhp at 8,500rpm and 12.7Nm of torque at 7,000rpm. In terms of features, the scooter will get dual projector lamps with daytime running lights, step seat, digital analog console and LED winkers.

Hero XF3R 300cc

Hero MotoCorp has confirmed that they will not launch the production version of the HX250R in the country. Instead, the company will focus on building premium 300cc or above bikes for the market. It is expected that the near production model of the XF3R 300cc will be showcased at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. Just to jog your memory, this concept was displayed at the 2016 Auto Show. Powering the motorcycle is a 300cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, four-stroke DOHC engine that is likely to produce over 30bhp of power. This motorcycle is equipped with several high-end features that include USD front forks, ABS (Anti-Lock braking system), full-digital instrument console, etc.

Hero XPulse off-road bike

Next in our list of new Hero Bikes at Auto Expo 2018 is the Hero Xpulse off-road motorcycle, which was first previewed at the 2017 EICMA. This motorcycle will come as a replacement for the Hero Impulse 150cc dual-sport motorcycle, which was discontinued last year. It is expected to be powered by a 200cc, single-cylinder unit which will be tuned for higher torque. We believe that this motor could develop around 17-18bhp and over 20Nm of torque.

Another Japanese bike maker that will bring its new upcoming bikes at the Auto Expo 2018 is Suzuki. It is expected to bring Gixxer 250 and Suzuki GSX 250R at the Delhi Auto Expo 2018. The quarter-litre bike was first brought to the EICMA Motorcycle show in November last year and is expected to launch in India during the second half of 2018. Power source on the bike is a 248cc, single cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with maximum power output of 24.7bhp against 23.3Nm torque.

Suzuki V-Strom 250

Suzuki V-Storm 250 will share the podium with other upcoming new Bikes at the Auto Expo 2018. The entry-level adventure motorcycle is already available for sale in the Chinese market in ABS and without ABS versions. Built on Suzuki’s Inazuma 250, the new adventure bike will take on the likes of upcoming Kawasaki Versys 250 in the segment. Powered by the 248cc, four-stroke, liquid-cooled SOHC parallel twin engine, the bike gets power transmitted to the rear wheel through a six-speed unit. As for the engine, it makes maximum power of 25bhp along with 23.40Nm torque.

Among new scooters at Auto Expo 2018, Suzuki’s next 150cc scooter will be the most exciting one. Details about the scooter are yet to be confirmed, but reports suggest that the new scooter will rival the likes of Vespa 150 and the Aprilia SR150. The new motorcycle is claimed to be exciting and quite different from the existing scooters in the market.

BMW has already given a glimpse of the G310R naked streetfighter and now it is planning to bring a new adventure tourer-BMW G 310 GS to India. The model was first revealed at the 2016 EICMA show in Milan and is expected to share space with other BMW bikes at the Auto Expo 2018. Built on the G 310R platform, the bike borrows design cues from the popular F 700 GS. Interestingly, it is the third product developed jointly by TVS Motor and BMW which will be manufactured TVS’s production unit in India. Power on the G 310 GS will come from the same 313cc, single cylinder liquid-cooled engine that is used in the G310R naked bike. The engine makes 34bhp at 9,500rpm against 28Nm at 7,500rpm. While power is channelized via a 6-speed unit.

BMW G310R

The naked streetfighter from BMW we spoke about is the G310R that is likely to witness a grand debut at the Delhi Auto Expo 2018. It is the first model to be developed jointly by BMW Motorrad and TVS Motor Company. The production of the bike has already started at TVS’ production unit at Hosur near Bengaluru and the export has already started to Australia European and US markets. Mechanical strength will come from the 313cc, single-cylinder water cooled engine with maximum power of 34bhp and 28Nm. For transmitting power, it will use a 6-speed gearbox.

Benelli Leoncino

DSK Benelli will finally launch the much-awaited Leoncino neo-retro naked motorcycle in the country in February. It will make its public debut at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. The company will launch road-biased version of the motorcycle. It will be introduced in India as a CKD unit, and will be locally assembled. This bike will directly rival the Harley Davidson Street 750. It is powered by a 499.6cc parallel-twin engine that is good for 49.6bhp and 45Nm of torque.

Benelli Imperiale 400

The Imperiale is the next model in our list of upcoming new Bikes at Auto Expo 2018. This motorcycle was unveiled at the 2017 EICMA. It is powered by a 373cc four-stroke, air-cooled engine that produces 20PS of power and 28Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a five-speed gearbox.

Jawa 350

Mahindra will re-launch the Jawa bikes brand in the country, and it will be officially announced at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. Additionally, the company will also unveil the new Jawa 350cc motorcycle at the biennial event. This motorcycle is expected to be developed at Mahindra’s Pithampur plant, and the production could commence in the second half of 2018. Powering the bike is a 350cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that is good for 26bhp of power and 32Nm of torque.
