Ford EcoSport To Be Replaced With A New Car In 2020?

There is no clarity yet on its India launch as EcoSport nameplate has a huge fan following here. 

Recently, a new Ford subcompact crossover SUV was caught on camera during its test rounds in Cologne, Germany. The heavily camouflaged prototype seems inspired by the Fiesta hatchback, but with SUV-ish stance. According to Autocar, the new Ford subcompact crossover SUV will come as a replacement to the EcoSport sometime in 2020. Having said that, there is no clarity yet on its India launch as EcoSport nameplate has a huge fan following here.

The Ford EcoSport replacement might get a new nameplate or continue to carry the existing one. It will be the smallest SUV in Ford’s product lineup. The new model is likely to share its platform and powertrains with the global-spec Fiesta hatchback. The EcoSport replacement might come with the FWD (front-wheel-drive) system. The test mule of the new Ford subcompact crossover SUV features heavy plastic cladding on the front end, C-pillar, side doors and rear bumper. As far as the Indian market is concerned, Ford is working on a C and B-segment SUVs that will be positioned against the Tata Harrier and Hyundai Creta respectively. The former will share its platform with the next-generation Mahindra XUV500 and is likely to come with 5 and 7-seats layout.
