The French carmaker, Renault seems quite aggressive with its Indian operations. After the successful launch of the Kwid, the company recently introduced a more powerful version of the hatchback – Kwid 1.0L. Besides this, the carmaker has also lined-up the AMT-equipped and accessorized models of the Kwid. In order to tap other segments, Renault will introduce a Kwid-based sub-4 meter compact SUV (HBC) and a sedan (LBC) in the Indian market.
The MPV is the only segment where the French carmaker has failed to create buzz, despite having a capable product like Lodgy. According to a latest report, Renault is planning to introduce the 2017 Renault Grand Scenic premium MPV that will be positioned against the Toyota Innova Crysta. In fact, the company has patented rights for a new Grand Scenic in India. The 2017 Renault Grand Scenic will have its world premiere at this year’s Paris Motor Show.

The leaked scan reveals that the new Renault MPV will carry the company’s new design philosophy, which we have already seen on the new Megane sedan and Captur (Kaptur) compact SUV. The new Renault MPV might come with 7-seat or optional 8-seat layout. Besides a spacious cabin, the vehicle will come with a host of comfort and safety features. On the exterior, the car will feature stylish C-shaped headlamp cluster, signature Renault badge integrated in four vertical wing-shaped slats, aggressive front fascia, glass roof linking windscreen, sculpted surfaces and rear window.
2017 Renault Grand Scenic India Specifications
No technical details of the new Renault Grand Scenic are available yet. Speculations are on rife that it might share its engine with the Koleos – i.e. 2.0-litre dCi diesel. This oil burner churns out a peak power of 148bhp and 320Nm of torque.

2017 Renault Grand Scenic India Launch Date
Though Renault India hasn’t yet revealed the official launch details, we can expect it to arrive sometime in 2017 or 2018.
