11. Mahindra Tivoli Electric

Mahindra had showcased the SsangYong Tivoli compact at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. If media reports are to be believed, the company will launch the electric version of the SUV in the country. Mahindra is also working on a compact SUV – codenamed S201 – which will be based on the Tivoli’s platform. The electric version of the SUV will make its global debut by the end of 2018 or early 2019.

The company is working a range of electric powertrains for its future electric cars in the country. The electric Tivoli is expected to come with a range of 250km on full charge and it will accelerate to 100kmph from standstill in 11 seconds. This model is likely to get an all-new electric motor that will produce up to 150kW (201.07bhp) and 400Nm of torque. It is expected to have a top speed of 150kmph. Read More

12. Hyundai Carlino Compact SUV

First previewed at the 2016 Auto Expo, the Hyundai Carlino compact SUV concept had derived much attention from visitors. The unique and contemporary styling certainly makes it one of the highly-anticipated upcoming cars in India. The South Korean carmaker might unveil the production version of the Carlino at the 2018 Auto Expo in February. Under the hood, the compact SUV will feature a small displacement petrol motor that might deliver power worth 118bhp and 171Nm of torque. The diesel iteration of the vehicle could feature a 1.4-litre U2 CRDi unit that is good for 89bhp and 220Nm of torque. Transmission duties on the compact SUV are likely to be carried out by a 6-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic gearbox.

Sporting a boxy design and a high ground clearance, the Carlino looks different from most of Hyundai cars based on Fluidic design language. Face of the SUV styled quite aggressive with large bumper, grille and sleek headlamps with LED DRLs. It also carries large wheels, pronounced wheel arches, roof carries, rear skid plates, and square-shaped taillamps. 13. Honda Jazz Facelift

Honda Cars India will bring in the first facelift of the Jazz hatchback. Expected to launch towards the end of this year, the new Honda Jazz facelift will see subtle cosmetic and feature updates. Based on Honda’s new ‘Exciting H Design’ language, the facelifted Jazz will feature new solid wing face grille with bolder chrome bar, new headlamps with DRLs, revised fog lamps and bumpers. Other styling changes will include new alloy design, sportier tailgate spoiler, black ORVMs and new LED taillamps. Inside the cabin, the hatchback will get the Civic-inspired touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and navigation support, a new 7-inch Digipad touchscreen system with turn-by-turn navigation and a new 3D multi-information meter.

Power source for the new Jazz will be the same 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel units. While the gasoline unit makes 87bhp with 110Nm of torque, the oil burner generates a maximum power of 99bhp with 200Nm of torque. 14. Next Gen Honda Brio

Next in our list of the upcoming cars in India is the new-generation Honda Brio. The new Brio is likely to have its India debut at the 2018 Auto Expo, followed by launch in mid or late next year. Not much is known about the technical and feature details of the hatchback. Though, reports suggest that the 2018 model might receive a new 1.2-litre diesel engine. It will also continue to use the 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine that makes a maximum power output of 86.8bhp and 109Nm of torque. Transmission choices will include the conventional 5-speed manual and an optional CVT gearbox.

Similar to the current generation, the new Honda Brio will be based on the brand’s ‘Max Maximum Machine Minimum’ philosophy. Though, it will use a modified platform and Honda’s new design language. Exterior styling will be all-new with features such as sleeker headlamps with integrated LED DRLs, revised front and rear bumpers, bolder fog lamps, new front grille with lots of chrome, new alloys and sharper rear design. Inside, the car will see a range of advanced comfort and connectivity features including new digital speedometer, touchscreen with navigation function, reverse carmera, new seat upholstery and many more.

15. Tata X451

With an aim to expand its product portfolio in India, Tata will bring in several new products in different segments. The home-grown carmaker will also foray into premium hatchback segment with Tata X451. Similar to most of the new upcoming cars in India, the X451 hatchback will make its debut at the 2018 Auto Expo in February. The new Tata hatchback could be based on a new AMP (Advance Modular Platform), and designed with joint efforts of Tata’s three design studios and inputs from Jaguar Land Rover.

Details about the X451 are scanty. Though, it is likely to feature projector headlamps, DRLs or turn blinkers, low-positioned fog lamps, prominent wheel arches, plastic cladding around the body and roof rails. Some of the features will carried over from the upcoming Nexon compact SUV. 16. Tata Nexon AMT

Next in our list of upcoming cars in India is the AMT version of the Tata Nexon compact SUV. The manual version of the SUV is already on sale. It will be equipped with a 6-speed AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) unit. This gearbox will be offered in both petrol and diesel guise. Additionally, it will also come with a multi-drive mode.

17. Mahindra KUV100 facelift

The first model to go on sale in the country is the Mahindra KUV100 Electric, which has already started testing on the Indian roads. The electric model will make its global debut at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo, while the launch could take place in the second half of 2018. 18. Renault Compact SUV

The new Renault compact SUV will be slotted below the Renault Kaptur, and go up against the Maruti Vitara Brezza and Ford EcoSport. While the carmaker’s smallest crossover Kaptur will be rolled out during coming festive season, the new compact SUV might have its India debut at the Auto Expo 2018. This new vehicle might use the Kwid’s chassis or a new CMF-B platform.
