New Maruti Suzuki S-Cross Bookings Cross 11,000 Mark in India

The Maruti S-Cross facelift has crossed 11,000 bookings mark with a total sales of 5,000 units.

It’s been less than two months, Maruti Suzuki introduced the first mid-life facelift of the S-Cross crossover in India. In this short span of time, the car has crossed 11,000 bookings mark with a total sales of 5,000 units. The 2017 model year of the crossover comes with a bit of premium quotient in terms of exterior styling and features. What further goes in the favour of the car is its new 1.3L DDiS SHVS engine, which is more efficient than the old 1.6L diesel unit.

The new S-Cross facelift’s Fiat-sourced 1.3L DdiS is benefited with Smart Hybrid from Suzuki (SHVS) technology that includes idle-stop start, brake energy regeneration system, torque assist and a gearshift indicator. This powertrain is capable of generating 89bhp with a peak torque of 200Nm. All variants of the crossover get a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. New Maruti S-Cross Review

Some of the key design updates include a new chrome grille, projector headlamps with LED DRLs, revised front bumper with wider airdam, new fog lamps, redesigned ORVMs with turn indicators and a new pair of alloy wheels. The range-topping Alpha varaint is exclusively available with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible to Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Mirrorlink. Premium bits such as leather seat upholstery, leather strapped steering wheel, door armrest with leather finish are also reserved for the top-end mdoel. With respect to safety, the crossover gets dual airbags, ABS (anti-lock braking system) with EBD (electronic brake-force distribution) and ISOFIX child seat mounts as standard fitments. Features such as rear parking sensor and rear camera, keyless entry with push start and stop button, engine immobiliser, side seat belt reminder lamp and buzzer and anti-theft security system are also on offer.
