The Maruti S-Cross facelift will be rolled out in four variants-Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha, akin to other premium models under Nexa range. To make it more desirable, the SUV will receive styling updates to the outside and inside. In addition, there will be a new Nexa Blue shade which will replace the current Urban Blue colour. Aside from cosmetic upgrades, the SUV will also receive Maruti’s SHVS mild hybrid technology and will miss out on the petrol engine. The SUV will only come with the 1.3-litre oil burner (with SHVS technology) and the higher capacity 1.6-litre unit will be dropped. Equipped with idle-start-stop system, brake energy regeneration, torque-assist and a gearshift indicator, the 89bhp, 1.3-litre unit will be linked to a 5-speed manual gearbox. In aesthetic terms, the SUV will receive key changes like a new chromed grille, new diamond cut alloy wheels and redesigned rear-combination lamps. Prominent in-cabin tech will include updated 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink. With subtle cosmetic changes, Maruti’s SHVS system and additional kit, the new S-Cross is estimated to fall between Rs 8.5 lakh to Rs 12 lakh. Set for a festive season launch the S-Cross facelift could come on September 28, 2017, though we still await an official confirmation from MSI.
