We informed you earlier that Maruti Suzuki could introduce a sportier version of the Ertiga MPV in India. It is clear that such product is actually under development, thanks to the leaked patent image. The leaked image reveals the top and rear view of the upcoming Maruti Ertiga Cross.

Not just Ertiga Cross, Maruti Suzuki is also working on a 7-seater Vitara SUV. This model is rumored to make its global debut at the 2020 Delhi Auto Expo and will rival the Tata Harrier and the next-gen Hyundai Creta. Maruti will also launch a micro SUV based on the Future S Concept. Scheduled to be launched in late 2019, the small SUV is likely to mark the return of Maruti Suzuki ZEN nameplate.

The Ertiga Cross is expected to be launched as the range-topping model, which could be sold exclusively through NEXA premium dealerships. Codenamed YHB, the crossover will have high ground clearance and aggressive body kit. Moreover, the Cross model will come in six-seat layout with captain seats for all 3 rows.

The new-generation Ertiga was launched on November 21, 2019, which has been receiving an excellent response from car buyers. It is built on Suzuki’s new HEARTECT platform, which makes it lighter and more fuel efficient. Moreover, the new model is bigger and more spacious than the previous model. The new Ertiga crossover is expected to be launched in late 2019 or early 2020. Also See – Upcoming Maruti Suzuki Cars In India
