Maruti Suzuki’s Upcoming Compact SUV To Be Called Maruti Zen – Report

2019 Maruti Zen Launch

The production version of the Maruti Concept Future S is likely to be called 2019 Maruti Zen.

At the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo, Maruti Suzuki had showcased the Concept Future S. This concept previews the company’s future compact car, which will come with SUV-ish design and high ground clearance. The new model is scheduled to be launched in the country in 2019. If latest media report is to be believed, Maruti Suzuki is planning to revive the ‘Zen’ nameplate in India. What’s most interesting is that the production version of the Future S concept could be called the “Maruti Zen”.

The new model will sit below the Vitara Brezza and will challenge the likes of Mahindra KUV100 and Renault Kwid 1.0L. For people not in the know, the Maruti Suzuki Future S Concept has been indigenously designed in India by the company’s R&D team. Featuring SUV like design, the small car could further increase the sales of Maruti Suzuki in India.

Just to jog your memory, Maruti Suzuki Zen was first launched in India in 1993 and later discontinued in 2010. It was also the first Maruti car exported to international markets. With Baleno’s success, Maruti Suzuki could revive its once popular “Zen” nameplate in India.
