Maruti Suzuki Baleno Achieves 5 Lakh Sales Milestone In Record Time
The Maruti Suzuki Baleno managed to achieve this milestone in a record time of just 38 months.
Maruti Suzuki India today has announced that its highly-popular Baleno hatchback has crossed 5 lakh sales mark in the Indian market. The premium hatchback managed to achieve this milestone in a record time of just 38 months of its arrival. Just so you know, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno was launched in October 2015 against Hyundai Elite i20. Commenting on the occasion Mr. R S Kalsi, Senior Executive Director, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki, said, “Baleno has become a resounding success in the highly competitive premium hatchback segment. With a staggering 20.6 % growth in first half of 2018-19, Baleno has been among the top selling cars in India, since 2016. Under the Make-in-India campaign, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno is exclusively produced in India. Interestingly, it’s also the first car from the Indo-Japanese carmaker to be exported from India to Japan. The hatchback is also on sale in several global markets including Latin America, Australia, Europe and East Asia.
Now, the company is planning to give a mid-life update to the Maruti Baleno sometime next year. If reports are to be believed, the facelifted model is likely to be rolled out by June, 2019. For 2019 model year, the new Maruti Baleno 2019 will see minor design and feature upgrades along with a new 1.5L diesel engine instead of 1.3L motor.
