The 2019 Maruti Baleno facelift is priced in the range of Rs 5.45 lakh – Rs 8.77 lakh (ex-sjowroom, Delhi).

Maruti Suzuki India has finally launched the mid-life facelift of its highly popular premium hatchback – Baleno. Interested buyers can pre-book the Maruti Baleno 2019 facelift at a token amount of Rs 11,000. For 2019 model year, the hatchback receives subtle cosmetic changes and feature upgrades. Engine mechanism, however, remains unchanged. The Baleno facelift is available 4 trim levels – Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha – priced between Rs 5.45 lakh and Rs 8.77 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

First launched in 2015, the Maruti Baleno has been one of the best-selling models for the Indo-Japanese brand in India. With its unique styling, premium interior and efficient powertrains, the Baleno appealed its target buyers and became an instant hit. Since its launch, the hatchback has been the best-selling car in its category. With a mid-life facelift, Maruti Suzuki aims to further boost sales of the Baleno hatchback. The company has also started working on the next-gen model, which is scheduled to be launched in 2021. It is built on the Suzuki’s HEARTECT platform that also underpins the Swift twins, new-gen Wagon R, Ignis and new-gen Ertiga MPV. The hatchback is available with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, seat belt reminder and speed alert as standard safety features.

The new Maruti Baleno carline comes in four trim levels – Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha – in petrol and diesel powertrains. While the petrol range cost between Rs 5.45 lakh – Rs 8.77 lakh, the diesel Baleno is priced in range of Rs 6.60 lakh – Rs 8.60 lakh. The base petrol and diesel models are 4,000 and 6,000 expensive than the previous models, while the top-spec petrol and diesel models price increased by 31,000 and Rs 7,000 respectively. No changes have been made under the hood. The 2019 Maruti Baleno facelift continues to use the same 1.2-litre K-Series, DOHC petrol and 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engines. While the former is capable of producing 83bhp of power at 6,000rpm against 115Nm of torque at 4,000rpm, the latter pushes out a peak power of 74bhp at 4,000rpm and 190Nm of torque at 2,000rpm. A 5-speed manual gearbox with the FWD (front-wheel-drive) system is available as standard across the model lineup. The company hasn’t launched the updated version of the Baleno RS. It is expected to arrive in the mid-2019. It will continue to derive its power from the existing 1.0-litre Boosterjet petrol engine that’s tuned to deliver 100.5bhp of power and 150Nm of torque. Power will be transmitted to the front wheels of the car via a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The overall silhouette and design of the 2019 Maruti Baleno facelift remains unchanged. Similar to the S-Cross facelift, the updated Baleno comes with a new prominent front grille with chrome enhancement and 3D detailing, slightly revised lower air-intake, repositioned vertical fog lamp assembly and a re-profiled bumper. It now features new LED projector headlamps with daytime running lights. Minimal changes have been made to its interior. The 2019 Maruti Baleno facelift retains the black interior scheme, but with contrasting premium Blue detailing. It features new two-tone seat upholstery.
