Mahindra U321 MPV Official Name To Be Revealed On 31st July

Production of the Mahindra U321 MPV will take place at the company’s Nashik facility.

Mahindra & Mahindra will announce the production name of its upcoming MPV (codenamed U321) on July 31, 2018. The launch of the Mahindra U321 MPV has been scheduled to happen in early September, 2018. Underpinning monocoque platform, the MPV has been developed at Mahindra’s North American Technical Centre (MNATC) in Michigan, USA and Mahindra Research Valley in Chennai. In the MPV space, the Mahindra U321 will face challenge from multiple products including the Toyota Innova Crysta (range-topping model), the Renault Lodgy and the upcoming new-generation Maruti Suzuki Ertiga (entry-level and mid variants). The vehicle is, currently, in its final testing phase and has been caught on camera multiple times.

The spy pictures give us a glimpse of its exterior design that appears to be boxy featuring Mahindra’s signature styling attributes. Upfront, the MPV gets a chrome grille and sweptback projector headlamps with LED DRLs and sculpted bonnet. Inside, the MPV will get piano black treatment with a beige finishing. It will also come with a touchscreen infotainment system that could be compatible to the Android Auto along with the USB and Bluetooth connectivity. The new Mahindra MPV is reported to come with both petrol and diesel engine. While the official details could be revealed on 31st July or near its launch, it’s rumored to come with a new 1.6L turbocharged mFalcon diesel and a new petrol engine options.  Transmissions on offer could be a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic.
