Jawa Adventure Tourer To Launch In 2020; To Challenge Royal Enfield Himalayan
Initially, the company will focus on the three unveiled variants.
Classic Legends re-introduced the Jawa brand with three new models – Jawa Classic, Jawa Forty Two and Jawa Perak – on 16th November, 2018. Prior to their launch, the bikemaker released sketches of four motorcycles including a base model, a roadster, a bobber and an adventure tourer. While we have received the roadster and bobber, the adventure tourer didn’t make the debut.
Talking to Autocar, Anupam Threja, one of the founders of Classic Legends, confirmed that the Jawa Perak is currently under development and will go on sale in 2019. Initially, the company will focus on the three unveiled variants. Interestingly, he hasn’t denied possibility of the Jawa adventure tourer. Though, it won’t come anytime soon.

The report further suggests that the Jawa adventure tourer is likely to hit roads sometime in 2020. Once launched, the new Jawa off-road version will take on the Royal Enfield Himalayan and the upcoming Hero Xpulse 200.
The teaser sketch reveals that the new Jawa adventure tourer will sit on a new chassis and feature high-mounted front splatter guard, spoke wheel, under-seat canister and a raised exhaust system. Stopping power will be derived from the front and rear disc brakes. Other highlights will include circular headlamp, minimal bodywork and a tall windscreen. Engine details of the Jawa adventure tourer are still under the wraps. Though, it might share its powertain with the Jawa and Jawa 42 – i.e. 27bhp, 300cc unit.
