Fiat To Discontinue All Its Cars In India; Will Focus On Jeep Brand

Fiat Production Stop

Fiat will stop production of all its cars retailed in India, claims a report.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) will soon discontinue all its vehicles in the Indian market. The Italian carmaker has five models in its Indian portfolio – Fiat Urban Cross, Fiat Abarth Punto, Fiat Punto Evo, Fiat Linea and Fiat Avventura. Now, the company will focus on the Jeep brand that has a couple of new products in the pipeline including a sub-4-metre SUV and a three-row SUV.

The American SUV maker tasted success with the Jeep Compass that went on sale in July 2017. Aiming to further boost its sales, the company introduced the top-spec Jeep Compass Limited Plus variant in September, 2018. The off-road version of the SUV – the Compass Trailhawk – will also make its way early next year.

As mentioned above, Fiat will stop production of all its cars retailed in India. The carmaker might use the free production capacity for the Jeep brand. With an aim to promote Jeep brand, the Italian carmaker will take strategic marketing initiatives and develop and migrate around 35 largest Fiat dealerships to retail vehicles under the Jeep, Abarth and Fiat brands.
