The Jawa 42 is the most affordable offering from Mahindra owned Classic Legends in India.

In November 2018, the Indian two-wheeler industry witnessed the return of the iconic Jawa Motorcycle brand. Mahindra’s 2-wheeler subsidiary, Classic Legends announced three all-new models – Jawa 300, Jawa 42 and Jawa Perak. The Jawa Classic and Jawa 42 have been made available at Rs 1.62 lakh and 1.55 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively. Priced at Rs 1.89 lakh, the Jawa Perak is a factory custom Bobber will go on sale at a later stage.

Classic Legends claims that “from its quality matte finish to dazzling chrome detailing, the Forty Two represents a brilliant new chapter in Jawa history”. It’s also said to deliver ultimate motorcycling experience with great handling, smooth acceleration and tight braking. Power for the Jawa 42 comes from a new 293cc, single-cylinder engine returning power worth 27bhp against 28Nm. Jawa 42 Price In India

The new Jawa Forty Two is the most affordable offering from Mahindra owned Classic Legends in the country. This bike has been introduced at Rs 1.55 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). While the Classic 300 is being offered at Rs 1.62 lakh, the Perak bobber costs Rs 1.89 lakh. The new Jawa bike has been designed on the double cradle chassis. As mentioned above, the bike is propelled by an all-new 293cc, single-cylinder liquid-cooled DOHC engine. This motor dishes out a maximum power of 27bhp and a peak torque of 28Nm. Classic Legends claims that the new 293cc engine, benefited with dual overhead camshaft and fuel injection system, offers generous mid-range and a flat torque curve. Transmission duties are carried out by the rear wheel is a 6-speed gearbox. The company claims that the new Jawa engine has been designed to deliver the exhaust note similar to the original Jawa motorcycles. The new powertrain meets the upcoming BSVI emission norms. The company hasn’t revealed the fuel efficiency of the new motorcycle. Packed with a 293cc engine, the motorcycle should deliver mileage close to 35kmpl. The Jawa 42 is capable to attain a maximum speed of 135kmph – 140kmph. Jawa 42 Suspension & Braking

Suspension mechanism of the Jawa Forty Two consists of a conventional telescopic front forks and twin hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear. The 280mm front disc with floating caliper and 153mm drum brake at the rear ensure safe ride. Jawa 42 Dimensions

The new Jawa 42 has been assembled with 18-inch front wheel and 17-inch rear wheel shod with 90/90 and 120/80 section tyres, respectively. The wheelbase of bike stands at 1369mm, and it offers a seat height of 765mm. It comes with a fuel tank capacity of 14-litres.

The new Jawa Forty Two has been made available in six different color schemes – Glossy Metallic Red, Glossy Dark Blue, Matt Moss Green, Matt Pastel Blue, Matt Pastel Light Green and Matt Blue.

Jawa 42 Design

Classic Legends claims that the Jawa 42 is a toned, muscled, sporty, aggressive version of the Jawa Classic 300. This motorcycle sports several retro-styled features along with modern tech. It gets round-shaped headlamp, which is slightly smaller in size compared to the Classic model. The bike features a cylindrical fuel tank, but it misses out on the chrome treatment.

Though, you will notice the chrome detailing on the engine casing, rear shock absorbers and exhaust pipe. The bike also gets blacked out treatment on the several parts. Some of its design highlights include a flat handlebar, single seat with riders comfort on priority, digital instrument console and flared rear mudguard with pinstrips.
