Hero Duet 125 will take on the Honda Activa 125, TVS Ntorq and Suzuki Access 125.

Hero MotoCorp has dropped the first teaser picture of its upcoming Duet 125 scooter. The teaser has a tagline “The Ride Of Tomorrow, Here Today”, and confirms the imminent launch of the vehicle. Expected to be priced around Rs 58,000 (ex-showroom), the Hero Duet 125 will go up against the Honda Activa 125, TVS Ntorq and Suzuki Access 125. Just so you know, the scooter made its public appearance at the 2018 Auto Expo alongside the Hero Maestro 125.

For power, the new Hero Duet 125 makes use of a 124.6cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, four-stroke engine with the company’s i3S idle start-stop technology. Hero’s i3S technology automatically switches off the engine when the vehicle is in idle stage and comes back to life as the system receives a throttle input. Transmitting power on the new Hero Duet 125 is a Variomatic Drive CVT automatic gearbox. The air-cooled gasoline unit makes 8.7bhp at 6750rpm and 10.2Nm of torque at 5000rpm. With a kerb weight of 113kg, the scooter offers a payload capacity of 130kg. Its wheelbase and ground clearance stand at 1245mm and 155mm respectively.

Riding on 90/100-10 section tubeless tyres, the new Hero Duet 125 features LED taillamp, body-coloured rear view mirror and external fuel filling cap. Features such as underseat storage compartment light, semi-digital speedo console and mobile charging port make it practical for day-to-day riding purpose. Read: Hero Xtreme 200R – All You Need To Know 

Colour options that will be offered on the scooter will include Chestnut Bronzee, Panther Black, Pearl Silver White and Noble Red. For damping duties, it gets telescopic forks up front and a single coil spring type hydraulic shock absorber rear suspension unit. It sources braking power from 130mm front and rear drum brakes. It also gets an Integrated Braking system.
