The Hero Maestro Edge 125 will be the second 125cc from the home-grown bikemaker.
Hero MotoCorp recently introduced the Destini 125 at a starting price of Rs 54,650 (ex-showroom, Delhi). At the launch event, the two-wheeler maker has also confirmed that it will expand its premium scooter and motorcycle range in coming months. While the company hasn’t yet revealed the launch timeline of the Hero Maestro Edge 125, it is likely to hit showrooms by the end of this year or early next year. Just so you know, the Hero Maestro Edge 12 and the Duet 125 (Destini) first broke cover at the Auto Expo 2018. While the new Hero Maestro Edge 125 with sporty styling will appeal young buyers, the Destini 125 targets mass audience. Engine mechanism of both the scooters is same – i.e. 125cc, single-cylinder engine with i3S technology. Apart from a new powertrain, the Maestro Edge 125 receives new body graphics and features.
Hero Maestro Edge 125 Launch Date
As a reminder, the 125cc version of the Maestro Edge was first previewed at the Auto Expo in February 2018. As far as launch is concerned, the company had announced that it will roll out the scooter in the second quarter of the 2018-19 financial year. Hero Maestro Edge 125 Price in India
The existing Maestro 110cc is available in the price range of Rs 49,700 – Rs 51,150 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new 125cc version of the scooter will put up against the Honda Grazia and Honda Activa 125. It will also impact sales of models such as the TVS NTorq, Suzuki Access and Aprilia SR 125. Developed at Hero’s Centre of Innovation and Technology (CIT) in Jaipur, the Hero Maestro Edge 125 is estimated to be priced between Rs 50,000 – Rs 60,000 (ex-showroom). Hero Maestro Edge 125 Specifications
At the heart of the scooter is a 125cc, single-Energy cylinder Boost engine delivering a claimed power output of 8.7bhp at 6,750rpm against a peak torque of 10.2Nm at 5,000rpm. This powertrain is boosted with i3S (idle-start-stop) technology that aids to its performance and fuel efficiency. After the Hero Destini 125, the Hero Maestro Edge 125 will be the company’s second scooter to feature i3S system. Transmission on offer is a CVT (continuously variable transmission) unit. Hero Maestro Edge 125 Design & Features
Visually, the 125 version of the scooter looks identical to the Maestro Edge 110. Though, it has sharper front and rear styling. It has fibre body panels and new body graphics. The scooter comes fitted with a larger 12-inch front alloy wheel. The list of feature includes an LED taillight, digital analogue instrumentation, external fuel filing, service indicators, remote key opening and a side stand. It also gets an optional front disc brake. Buyers will be have four colour schemes to choose from, namely, Matte Brown, Matte Red, Matte Vernier Grey and Matte Techno Blue.
