Asia’s most extravaganzas and the much-awaited automotive event, the Delhi Auto Expo is all set to begin in the second week of February 2018. The 2018 Auto Expo Delhi will start from 9th and will end on 14th February, 2018. The biennial event is scheduled to take place at India Expo Mart in Greater Noida. While the show is just two months away, the online ticket bookings have been commenced on BookMyShow.com. Prices of the 2018 Auto Expo tickets start from Rs 350 and go up to Rs 750.

Commenting on the occasion, Sugato Sen, Deputy Director General, SIAM, said “We are pleased to begin the booking of online entry ticket way in advance for the convenience of public, and have also introduced free home delivery of tickets, keeping in mind the convenience for the visitors. On the other, the Components Show is slated to begin from 8th to 11th February, 2018 at the Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. There will be a joint inaugural event on 8th February, 2018. While the 2018 Auto Expo provides a platform to showcase upcoming cars during the next two years, manufacturers like Volkswagen, Skoda and Audi will not participate in the event. On the flip side, the event will witness participation from some new manufacturers including Kia Motors, Peugeot, SAIC and some others.

The 14th edition of the world’s second largest motor show, 2018 Auto Expo will be a day longer than usual. This decision has been taken due to the increasing visitors’ interest and footfalls. The last year’s Auto Expo witnessed a colossal 6 lakh footfall and the organizers (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers, Confederation of Indian Industry and Automotive Components Manufacturers Association) are expecting similar response for the next year’s biennial event.

Highlighting the salient features of Auto Expo – The Motor Show, Mr. Vishnu Mathur, Director General, SIAM, said “The Auto Expo has conventionally been one of the most pursued platforms for the automobile industry in India and with the continued success of the show, it has gained a global thrust giving the participating brands a worldwide exposure. Auto Expo – The Motor Show 2018 is aimed at celebrating the industry’s biggest automotive event offering an opportunity to the Industry and visitors to Co-Create, Co-Exist and Celebrate.”

Spreading across 1,85,000 square meters, the 2018 Auto Expo will have 14 indoor exhibition halls and special zones for visitors including Smart Mobility Zone, Innovation Zone, Competition Zone and Destination Zone. Themed ‘Automotive Technologies that Drive the World, the 2018 Component Show will be spread across 60,000 square meters. It will witness participations from over 1,2000 companies. As a reminder, the 13th edition of the event witnessed participation from 65 auto makers from across the globe and more than 108 new vehicles were showcased and launched at the event.

The biennial event plays host to the launch of new cars, facelifts, special editions, new-generation models, concepts etc. Car & bike manufacturers bring their upcoming products lined-up for launch in India. While car and two-wheeler manufacturers give a glimpse of the upcoming vehicles, companies also display new technology developed for vehicles like new engines, in-car connectivity features among others. Students from established universities and institutions also utilise the platform to showcase their innovations in the field of technology.
