The first model in our list of upcoming Maruti cars at Auto Expo 2018 is the highly-awaited new Maruti Suzuki Swift. Already on sale in select international markets, the new Swift will officially launch in India at this event. Based on Suzuki’s new HEARTECT platform, the new model is claimed to be over 100kgs lighter than the outgoing model. Keeping new Dzire’s fuel efficiency in mind, we believe that the new model will be the most fuel efficient car in its league. Unlike Baleno, the new Swift will be sold through regular Maruti dealerships. The new model is also likely to get a Sport variant, which is rumoured to be powered by a 1.4-litre turbo diesel engine.

We believe that the Swift RS version will be more feasible for the Indian market. It will be powered by a 1.0-litre Boosterjet petrol engine that is good for 100.5bhp and 150Nm of torque. Besides this, the vehicle will get the existing 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3L MJD diesel engine. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and an AMT unit. Read More
