Mahindra & Mahindra will introduce a range of exciting products including an all-new MPV, some facelifts and new-generation models along with a bunch of SUVs.

Asia’s largest auto show, the New Delhi Auto Expo will be bigger and better than ever. The 14th Edition of the event will host some of the hottest cars unveilings and launches of the year. From the Indian perspective, Mahindra & Mahindra will introduce a range of exciting products including an all-new MPV, some facelifts and new-generation models along with a bunch of SUVs. Here we bring you a complete list and details of the all the upcoming Mahindra cars at Auto Expo 2018.

1. Mahindra XUV Aero

While we saw the Mahindra XUV Aero concept at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo, this time the carmaker might showcase a near production version of the SUV at the coming biennial event. It won’t be overstatement that the XUV Aero is the most important upcoming Mahindra car at Auto Expo 2018. Recently, the carmaker is reportedly approved it for production. Touted as Mahindra’s most expensive project, this coupe-like SUV will source its power from a 210bhp, 2.2-litre mHawk diesel motor boosted with several advanced technologies. This powertrain will be linked to a 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox. Besides this, it will offer four driving models – Off-road, Race, Sport and Street.

What’s interesting about the all-new XUV Aero is its design and development which is done with collaborative efforts of Mahindra’s in-house team and Pininfarina. That said, the new Mahindra coupe SUV represents futuristic design philosophy of the company. The car wears aggressive headlamps, LED DRLs, sloping roofline, flared wheel arches and large alloys and LED tail lamps. 2. Mahindra KUV100 Facelift

The home-grown carmaker is also planning introduce the first facelift of its smallest SUV – KUV100. The updated model of the SUV is likely to carry a more neat design with minor cosmetic updates including revised headlamps, tailgate, re-designed bumpers etc. The cabin could also be classed-up with some new comfort and safety features. However, the design and features details are yet to be revealed.

Mechanically, the Mahindra KUV 100 will continue to house the same set of engines – a 1.2-litre mFalcon G80 petrol and 1.2-litre mFalcon D75 diesel. The gasoline unit makes a top power of 82bhp with 114Nm, and the oil burner generates 77bhp with 190Nm. Similar to the current model, the facelifted version will feature the conventional 5-speed manual gearbox. 3. Mahindra XUV700

With an aim to tap the premium SUV space, the Pune-based carmaker will bring in the Mahindra XUV700 (Rexton in global markets). Reports suggest the XUV700 will be the production avatar of the LIV-2 concept that broke cover at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. In Mahindra’s India product lineup, the XUV700 will be position above the XUV500. Designed on SsangYong’s new-generation body-on-frame chassis, the new Mahindra SUV will feature new grille, LED headlamps with LED DRLs, aggressive bumper and sporty alloys. Inside the cabin, the car might feature a 9.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with WiFi, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, multi-function steering wheel and a range of advanced safety equipment.

Under the hood, the XUV700 might feature a 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine that’s good enough for 184bhp and 420Nm of torque. This motor will be linked to a 7-speed automatic transmission. Mahindra also has an option of 225bhp, 2.0-litre petrol engine. Though, it could be introduced on a later stage. In India, the Mahindra XUV700 will go up against the segment leaders – Ford Endeavour and Toyota Fortuner. 4. Mahindra TUV LWB

Next in our list of upcoming Mahindra cars at Auto Expo 2018 is the 7-seater version of the TUV300. Called the Mahindra TUV LWB, the SUV will be longer and bigger than its donor sibling. With a long wheelbase, the new 7-seater SUV will have more cabin space to offer. Unlike the TUV300 that has jump seats in the boot area, the TUV LWB will feature forward facing third row of seats. Features on offer might include a touchscreen infotainment system, multi information display, auto climate control, etc.

Sitting on the new ladder frame chassis, the Mahindra TUV LWB will share great resemblance with the TUV300. However, its third row glass area will be longer. Powering the new Mahindra 7-seater SUV will be the TUV300’s 1.5-litre mHawk diesel engine, which is capable producing 100bhp with 240Nm of torque. Rumours also has that the TUV LWB might share its diesel engine with the Scorpio – 120bhp, 2.2-litre mHawk or get a 1.99-litre diesel motor with Intelli hybrid system. 5. Mahindra MPV U321

Mahindra is also preparing a rival of Toyota Innova Crysta that might debut at the 2018 Auto Expo. Codenamed Mahindra U321, this new MPV is likely to use the monocoque platform that will make it lighter than its arch rival. Developed by Mahindra’s North American Technical Centre, the new Mahindra MPV will sit on a longer wheelbase and have a 7-seat layout. Feature-wise, it is likely to be a loaded one. The list of standard features might include a touchscreen infotainment system, multi functional steering wheel, leather seat upholstery, reverse parking camera, ABS with EBD and more.

The overall design will be compact and boxy. Up front, the car might feature Imperio pick-up truck inspired large bumper, air-inlets and fog lamps. Power source for the MPV will come with a 1.99-litre mHawk diesel engine that is likely to power other upcoming Mahindra cars at Auto Expo 2018 such as Mahindra TUV LWB. 6. Mahindra S201

The next SUV rolling out of Mahindra’s stable will be the S201. Since the Mahindra S201 will be positioned against the Hyundai Creta and Renault Duster, it will be among the most important upcoming Mahindra cars at Auto Expo 2018. This new Mahindra SUV will be offered in both petrol and diesel engine option. The 1.5-litre TGDI could be the petrol unit churning out 100bhp and 140Nm of torque. The diesel version is likely to derive its power from a 100bhp, 1.5-litre mHawk that also does duty in the NuvoSport and TUV300. The SUV will come with three gearbox options – a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed automatic and an AMT.

The Mahindra S201 will be built on SsangYong’s X100 platform, and feature contemporary design elements including sweptback headlamps, LED DRLs, sporty bumper, wide air intakes and chrome surround fog lamps. Features such as a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and navigation, electrically adjustable driver seat, reverse parking camera will enhance its comfort and convenience quotient. Read More

7. New Mahindra Bolero (U302)

The new-generation Bolero (codename – U302) is the next among the much-awaited Mahindra cars at Auto Expo 2018. According to media reports, the new Bolero could be christened as TUV500 and come with 7-seat configuration. Similar to the TUV300, the design of the new Mahindra U302 will be inspired by a ‘battle tank’. It is likely to sit on a high ground clearance and feature a high front nose, raised shoulder, straight bonnet and flat roof.
